I'm thinking the same. FFXIV is fun to play but not fun to play everyday. Not just you, I, and a few people in this thread but I think lots of players thought or are thinking the same.

New patch updates are not even make you feel good anymore. You'll get 2 dungeons per patch and some other small things to do but then it'll get old very quick. New patches nowadays only make people feel fresh for a week or so.

It's always the same routine. You do the same thing over and over, old wine in a new bottle. New dungeons, new gears, but they're all in the same old format we've been doing since 2.0.

Logging in daily for the roulettes is like working. Playing game supposed to be entertaining, not working.

I personally just do the relic's latest step in a slow pace, leveling up all of disciples to 60, capping the currencies, crafting/gathering, socializing with friends/FC etc. I don't enjoy the game for the humongous amounts of content, I enjoy it for the friends I've met along the way. Amazing people I would've never met if it wasn't for this game.

playing over a year and I'm perfectly fine with how the game is. Question is, if you leave here, where do you go? I left plenty of MMOs before I came here. You can take my journey in reverse, but rare one has so many updates and quality honestly.

Every one of the Shakespearean poetic replies in here just boil down to not enough content that caters specifically to your taste. "The game could be better if they did..." Stop. Stop doing this. Accept that the game caters to as many as it can and that its doing just fine.

Honestly, I've been playing since PS3 beta and I still have way too much to do everyday.

A break can be a good thing op, I take breaks from every game I play and I do find it helps keep the true "importance" of any mmo in perspective.

I try not to take any game too seriously, errr I find when ppl do take a game too seriously it changes them...into a tad obsessive, sometimes phony and at times a personality I simply can't stomach lol

I think the "routine" we are caught in with ffxiv is indeed somewhat related to lack of funds/ man power with some refusal to communicate (on their part) with NA tossed in there as well.

For the most part though their routine is working out pretty well. I think generally they do quite good, the only flaw I see is either the inability or refusal (don't know which it is) to expand depth wise into what they already have. Minor changes do happen but are painfully slow to be implemented.

Not going into any details about what I think could help, but op remember you will always have those that 100% agree with you, those that passionately disagree with you and many more somewhere in the middle. That is just the nature of every mmo I play and have ever played.

Take a break and see if you miss the actual game...or just gaming in general, that will determine if ffxiv has anything left for you. All mmos and most players at one point suffer from this to varying degrees.

I don't think this game will out live FFXI, that even won a few awards back in the day. There's to many things wrong in this game and when more people unsub then they will know it's time to make changes.

My whole point exactly. There is quite a bit of variety of things for players to do. That's why you can literally do everything on one character. Of course if you "only raid" or "only craft" or "only" do this or that, then yes you will get bored a mere two weeks after a content patch. Again, all I can say is maybe FFXIV isn't for these people. If they aren't having fun doing their "one" thing and want ignore or say that the rest of the content is "meaningless," then they really should just unsub and go find something that better caters to their gaming/enjoyment needs.

Like I said a lot of times,I'm happy with the current game. I won't say not to more things, but I like how is it now and I don't mind does not change in the next years. And I play everyday.

A lot of these posts in here are just proving to me that a lot of you really need to take a break from the game, if logging in everyday is such a chore and its making you question why you're even bothering then thats a good as sign as any to take a break from the game and play something else for a while or just do some other irl activity.

This. The moment you start transforming your recreation into work is the moment you should stop and do something else. Paying for a monthly sub doesn't mean you have to log in every single day and play eight hours to make it worth your money.
