This is where your post lost all sense of credibility.

You don't get anything within this game without a monotonous grind, nor can you obtain any of the new content without having a moderate knowledge of your class and how to perform properly play within the games mechanics. Therefore you're entire post after the quote is completely gibberish at best, last time I checked games that are developed to allow players to win through purchasing micro transactions or through means that allow the player to have nearly unloseable odds. Neither of those elements are featured within 14, if anything players are leaving because they're tired of the monotony of the same format that SE refuses to change.

IDK. when I had tons of time to play every day I found myself with a very small amount of stuff to do because I would always power through stuff. Now that I've started working days and play in the evenings and weekends, I almost feel overwhelmed with all the stuff I have to or can do. For me, personally, it feels like just the right amount of stuff. Maybe you just need a break?

Pretty much the same for me.
I felt burnt out before HW because I was not working and finished my studies already. I had a lot of time, so I just did everything I could in-game with that lot of time.
Nowadays I work like hell and even though I have some nice time left to play, sometimes I get home so tired I can't bring myself to do it even though I really want to. Now when I log in I feel overwhelmed with all the stuff I have to do and it's a fresh taste.

So I guess what people say about this game being more focused on the "casual" playing makes sense here. If you don't play more than 4 hours a day you'll always have a lot of stuff to do. But if you play everyday for 6 hours+, you might get bored pretty fast.

I started playing this a few months after beta then left because I was hard core addicted to dcuo. My fiancé always goes between games but I still remember his pre-order of this game & all the other FF games he played prior to xiv. He is endgame such as yourself, were as I'm not because I was gone for a very long time & I'm not interested in rushing to end game for several reasons (1 being exactly what you are complaining about). I literally only played 2 weeks on my free membership on PS3 & just came back about 2 months ago. If you truly feel this way then it probably is best to take a break or leave because you sound like we did when we left dcuo. I've asked him numerous times, if he thinks they need to up the content releases, should a certain raid be nerfed, if there should be more gear added based off your role, all of these questions about end game that I see on here. He always says nothing needs to change it is perfect. He also says some people that are asking SE to do something that ruined previous FF games, or other mmo's well their just dumb. All I can say to you is dcuo has monthly content if that's what your really looking for but that because of them adding monthly content it created an even bigger mess of other things. You say you would hate for this game to take 'that' path. Go look at dcuo then come back let's see if you still sing the same toon because SE doesn't even have the magnitude of problems that daybreak games or cyberstep has come to think of it. So I'm sorry no I don't think this game is in 'desperate' need of more content. I do look forward to more content in the future but I'm not in a hurry for it not even if I was end game because when Devs are rushed to release content sooner it has proven to be washed up, boring content, that prolongs other issues that need fixing.

I'm with you OP the formula hasnt changed somce 2.0 its gotten stagnant, and really redundant. Im not gonna cry over spilt milk, I didnt expect the expanson to improve upon a system that worked well, but seriously, 2 expert dungeons? for real? 3 was voging enougn give us 2? to grind for 4 months or more? its seriously stuff like this that turns this game to a login then go to work. say howdy then come back 9 hours later.

Well then just leave the game, cancel your account. Only way to show SE that you are not satisfied with the current state of the game. Posting long posts about that is awry won't change a lot since I have never seen a developer post anything in the NA forum, probably for the better of all.

Contrary to your corporate checklist comment, I think what sets this game apart is how brimming with love it feels. It's a labor of love with incredible attention to detail in its lore, artwork, sound design, everything. If the main complaint is stale content design, they are certainly trying to change it up. Deep dungeon is a new content type which will be ongoing through patches, and exploratory missions are going to receive a major reworking after an initial misstep and those will come back for another try later this year.

Also coming is major new GC content (form and level up a platoon of NPC allies). Big additions to the game since its launch are too numerous to go into, but recent examples are seasonal ranked pvp (Feast) and treasure dungeons (Aquapolis). I'm clearly an apologist and huge fan, but what other games out there are doing a better job than XIV with patch content pipeline? If this game is truly restricted by budget and understaffing then the team's efforts are even more remarkable, because I think they are the best in the industry.

Well I was watching this post out of boredom, like many other posts Ive given up on it.

The OP (like myself and others) generally wants to see the game get better. Even if he doesnt know how to make it better, but all this community ever does is ridicule the OP, then ridicule the people making valid on topic responses.
This guy has valid points. Yes there is a lot of content in this game. But he's saying that its no longer fun because of various reasons that I have seen countless other users bring up as well.

So clearly there is an expectation or issue that many players feel needs to be addressed for them to want to continue subbing. This is a legitimate issue, or FFXIV could end up another failed MMO, because it didnt address the warning signs.
Please stop derailing feedback threads with useless statements about a user's credibility, or calling them a whiner just because they dont find enjoyment in X,Y,Z content that you have more time or energy to throw yourself into.

The OP I quoted stated FF14 is being designed for instant gratification players rather not the so called hardcore MMO players. So please next time read the post before you attempt to tell someone something rather than jumping to a mindless conclusion.

There is a lack of overall content throughout the game.
There are many QoL adjustments that SE hasn't attempted to correct.
Many things talked about like new summon egis, GC ranks, expanded inventory and Odin summon never see the day of light and get pushed back to a pending release date.
Many of the side content like diadem and gold saucer die almost immediately after release due to lack of support
Zero communication between the dev team and the player base
And highly evident short money flow and staffing power also hindering the game.

But please tell me how this game is being designed for instant gratification type players please tell me what npc I can go talk to and get my 240 relic done right now, please tell me what quest I can do to get all 240 armor on completion, and what npc I can speak to so I can earn unlimited gil. Don't worry, I'll wait.

    1. To be fair, there is a ton of content in the game. While I would like more in the areas that I partake in, I acknowledge that some content just does not interest me and I choose not to partake in it. That does not mean that it isn't there though.

    2. To be sure, but there are also a ton of other things they are working on and not all "QOL adjustments" mentioned in the forums are things that all people want.

    3. They have already addressed their reasons for not having more egis whether you agree with them or not. The new glammers are due out next patch, I think actually... I forgot. It was mentioned in a recent live letter.

    4. They are aware of the Diadem's failure and have plans to fix it. Next patch is supposed to be a big update for it.

    5. Umm.. what? The devs have live letters every month telling us what's coming in future patches. That, by definition, is communication. The community team does an awesome job getting concerns, feedback and ideas through. But not all ideas on the forums here are good ideas. I don't envy their job of having to sort through it all. Yoshi P has mentioned several times that they monitor the forums and look for feedback.

    6. I'm sure any company working on an MMO could use more money and more staff. OK, except maybe Blizzard which seems to have money to burn on film making now.
