You can skip every cutscene in the game by pressing a button. It remains the fastest way to level as it gives the most experience and unlocks the majority of the dungeons in the game. It is completely possible to level without those quests.A lot of people have quit because of the slog between 2.5 and Heavensward before actually getting to play Heavensward. Some people might say that's entitled, but honestly, it's a game and if it isn't fun then they have a right to quit.
So I think a level jump is fine. If people want to use it, they'll use it. If not, they can do it the old way. Not everyone plays for the story.
That's a lot of button presses. Why not just add a skip then?
Also, based on the current skill level of the playerbase, it seems like forcing people to level hasn't done anything to increase skill.
People who want to improve would do research and improve. Plus half the time your rotation isn't close to being complete without all the skills.
I'd rather have more players in the game. More players = more money = more content.
The tiniest lala.
I'm being misunderstood. I am completely against the idea of a paid level boost. If players are completely disinterested in the story of a story-driven MMORPG then as I said, there is an option to negate it. Again, there are still rewards for doing all of the quests in the form of experience, items, and Gil which only serve to benefit a player regardless of their dislike for the story. They surely could condense some of the quests. That's a lot of button presses. Why not just add a skip then?

As for your inane argument that we'd somehow get more money, more players, and more content I'd have to point to the current end game system and say you're likely confused. Daily roulettes, where we get the majority of our daily and weekly rewards, contain three years worth of dungeons and content that we worked to unlock and complete. Literally, for the next three months, we will have an Expert Roulette which consists of two dungeons. Your genius plan for player retention is to negate everything that we have to do in the game and introduce a relatively toxic player element into a very limited endgame with roughly little to do other than what...? Go back and do old content? Good luck keeping those subs. It'd be far more functional to allow access to content but avoid the level boosting aspect entirely. Keep level restrictions on everything. No pay to win.
Your opinion is bad.

It's possible to be a player that doesn't care about gil, items, or experience points, and only cares about playing challenging raids. For an experienced mmorpg player, level 1-50 is just extended tutorial and extremely boring.I'm being misunderstood. I am completely against the idea of a paid level boost. Well thats just too damn bad for them then why should they get a free pass because they are amazing mmo players? No.
Those are usually the same people that beat those raids within a month and then unsub til the next patch how is that making SE more money?
So they're playing the game for no reason? That makes no sense. If there really is an audience for that, and that's got to be just about the smallest fraction of the small fraction that actually plays the Savage content, then they may as well just sell a separate game entirely called "FFXIV: Raid Simulator" and avoid muddying up the entirety of content for everyone else.
That's still free money.
Why does it matter how others play?So they're playing the game for no reason? That makes no sense. Trust me it matters. It's an MMO, not a singleplayer game. I talk about how this player going to be like if everything is skipped and handed over like candy.
Ah damn, you beat me to it. Not only that, there will be less interaction between players and those who skip and such things, will end up having no knowledge what's going on and then it will cause more problems into the community. We all seen how ''I play my own way'' attitude goes.
