    Just bundle the next expansion that grants players 300% EXP gains up to level 60. The bonus exp is only applied to the character's current highest level combat, crafting and gathering class. Could also be a new NPC that gives new players a set of untradeable HQ every 10 levels from 1-50 and ever two levels 50-60.

    They'll only have to do each leveling dungeon twice at most while still actually having to play through content. I think an instant leveling type potion would be one of the worst case scenarios as levels 1-50 are essentially the tutorial for the game. After all, there's already a problem with people not understanding how to play their class in DF, and that would only exacerbate the situation.

    Don't give away the carrot.

    I find it a dubious prospect to copy strategy from WoW considering the diminishing number of subs they have experienced in recent years. If I had to pin that on anything, its from removing challenge and treating players like babies.

    As my friend likes to say, "They gave away the carrot." There needs to be that horizon you are walking toward. Skipping content and throwing in free levels is not the right solution. If the pace of the early game is such a hurdle, why not do something as simple as massively increase the exp rewards from old MSQ quests? Make them give so much exp that you cannot level lock yourself out of them. That'll increase leveling rate of the first class dramatically and get rid of a big part of the grind.

    Player B: unlock all lv 17-49 dungeons for level up roulette and all lv 50 dungeons for lv 50 roulette.

    Ironically I've had friends that wanted to get to 60 ASAP & do content with me....then when they actually got to 60 the end game gear treadmill made them stop playing. I am dead serious...



    Also it is a really really stupid idea. Skip all your levelling & all the story to get to 60 then grind 2 dungeons for 3.5 months so you can grind 2 new dungeons for 3.5 months etc etc. Honestly playing through the story, levelling up & getting new skills is the most fun I've had with this game.

    WoW is doing so bad these days that Blizzard have stopped releasing player numbers into the public domain to keep it quiet. FF14 should not be following in WoW's footsteps, not on this issue about P2W style level skip potions or many others including WoW's F2P status. When it was doing well they were more than happy to brag about it's numbers, these days because it is not they try to hide it and no longer publish them.

    Right, so not long enough to understand why leveling potions were needed for that game, but just enough to have an opinion and a knee jerk reaction. They were needed there, not necessarily needed here (yet).

    The only problem with locking HW behind ARR content was all the BS lackluster primal battle quests from like 2.2? onward. No actual story just heres a bad guy go kill it.

    When they started releasing that content I didnt even bother to watch the cutscenes any more.

    I would frankly just say get rid of everything to do with the primals and make the whole story a side quest and that would save new players a good chunk of probably 70 quests post level 50.

    absolutely opposed to level boosting potions. dont need more bad players as this game already has the most un skilled players in any mmo ive ever played.
