If by correctly you mean overgearing and maxing stats, then there is no point.
If by correctly you mean the minimum to HQ reliably, then there is plenty of use for red scrips/cups.
Correctly is being more or less on 3* star cap
My GSM and WVR weren't overpricely meld
And say at 825 control and 853 craftmanship
So 10 cont away from the new cap (FC buff or tools meld since mine were empty) and just abaked onion for the rest
That's not what I would call correct, and several people would say neither of use is correct. There are several ways to gear up, and red scrips are useful to some of them.
200 red scRip its a big boost in no time.
Dunnowhy why ppl Say its not
I think the logic is for omnicrafters to craft their shared slots and gain an overall boost across all jobs (without needing to buy a goblin leftside for each job).
From there you can either make your main/off hands or buy the goblin versions.
my cheap method is to get
keep 180 mainhand
crafted 170 offhand
Keep chest (upgrade with 1 week of red scrips to augmented)
lvl 60 white accessories
the rest carbonweave
with no greater than grade 4 melds and hq seafood stew, it is simple to get ~450 cp, 870 craft, 835 control.

I strongly doubt that 4 star, to be released either 3.35 or 3.4, will have stats that low. Expect to have to have needed your i190 gear almost to the max to be able to do 4 star stuff.
I180 was not enough, in and of itself, to reach 3 star stats - it took a certain craft/control food to do it, and that cost a ton of CP. Expect history to repeat itself with the i200 and 4 star stuff.

That was not the point...
This is a cheap path to play catch up as a fresh 60 crafter and get the stats TO MAKE ironworks gear.... not REPLACE ironworks gear. That would be silly.
This provides the stats for current 3 1/2 star synths at minimal time/gil cost, and then after you can worry about pentamelding the ironworks set for 3.4 content.
That's more because the i180 accessories were absolutely garbage, and had nothing to do with the left side i180 gear.I strongly doubt that 4 star, to be released either 3.35 or 3.4, will have stats that low. You can reach 3-star stats with full i180 left side/offhand + melded i170 accessories/belt + Seafood Stew. Heck, it'll even put you just 1 craftsmanship below the requirement for the ironworks crafted gear.
Expect 4-star requirements to be similar, with it being possible to reach with full i200 left side and melded i190 accessories/belt (possibly even i170), and either control/CP or craft/CP food.
