    Figure out what the recipe requires, what you can do, and how you will adapt to RNG. If you're following one of those rotations, you might as well just be using a string of macros. That said, 350 CP is stupid low, around 400 is where it starts to get comfy.

    A basic geared Crafter should be around 395ish CP with only melded i150 stuff

    405 or 420 is a clear boost
    Allow one more mistake or enhanced freely a hasty into precise

    I am seeing comments here about how the i200 body is bad, and how they plan to get the i200 main hand tool, which I do not get at all.

    i200 body : 270craftskill, 90control, 4cp.
    i190 ironwork body : 254craftskill, 80control, 4cp as base.

    To catch up with the i200 body, you'd need to meld 16 craftskill and 10 control into ironwork, which is at least 4 materias (unless my maths are messed up), you'd get a benefit over the i200 body only when overmelding that 5th slot (at least with a T4 materia too. Outch).

    i200 main tool : 315 craftskill, 169 control, ZERO cp.
    i195 crafted main tool : 306 craftskill, 164 control as base.

    To catch up with the i200 main tool, you'd need to meld 9 craftskill and 5 control intoi the crafted one, which is a merry 3 materias. On top of the option to have an extra 4CP over it. So basicly you benefit as soon as the 3rd materia is sloted.

    Is it because they only want one body piece for all craft jobs? I personally enjoy different looks on each crafters.
    Is it because they only want to slot one body instead of 8 tools even at the cost of gearing up slower? (9 goblin cup for body, 13 for tool)

    Can someone explain to lil' ignorant me what happens here? The ilvl difference of only 5 between the two tools screams "bad idea" to me.
    Side note : just getting i200 body allows me to craft those i190 items, I'm at 853/789 currently without food/buff. So perhaps I'm biased toward that because of it.

    You only need 2 Competence V and some Command IV/III to have a better body piece that you can use on all your crafters without spending any limited token.
    Also, main tools are the only thing worth spending your goblin cup on since:
    1) on the crafted counterpart you only have 1 sure slot for melds, which greatly increases you're expected cost for melding;
    2) "universal tools" are not a thing, so you'll need to craft and separately meld each primary tool (huge cost);
    3) there really isn't anything better to be bought with gubling cups.
    Let's just say it's for efficiency's sake.

    Using fc buff to reach the control requirement and using a HQ baked onipn allow me to craft the 190 body and reach 3.5* naturally on all spec and boost all non spec
    Day 2

    From what i saw... if you were correctly stuff before
    There is no point burning red script for the i200 things...

    Both i190 equipment and i195 tools are strong enough
    I got full left side 190 (minus boots and belt) and I reach almost 900 and 860 on every crafter

    It cost less for me to spend all red script in blue script conversion to get some of the old 180 crap to desynth and got tons of fiber
    And craft the remaining piece of the GORGEOUS ironforge stuff

    Correctly is being more or less on 3* star cap
    My GSM and WVR weren't overpricely meld
    And say at 825 control and 853 craftmanship
    So 10 cont away from the new cap (FC buff or tools meld since mine were empty) and just abaked onion for the rest

    That's not what I would call correct, and several people would say neither of use is correct. There are several ways to gear up, and red scrips are useful to some of them.
