So in the end, enjoy your rat race for housing. Your wide scale homeless is a server issue you picked.
EVERY server has hunting linkshells. I'm sure your server holds events (Like ALL servers do) but I bet they aren't as populated or frequent as Balmung or Gilgamesh. What's your population? What's your raid scene like? Are there enough opportunities for the raiders to find like minded people? And why are you saying that people on my server are mooching? We all provide things just like you do. Having enough opportunities to find people to play with and not feeling like I'm in a ghost town is more important than having a house (To me anyway) Like I said, I can always buy a house off of someone else once I get enough gil, because really, what else am I going to do with all of it?

Honestly, I agree with you saying that people shouldn't be huddled up on a couple of servers, but right now, there is no incentive to play a low population server rather than a largely populated one. Well actually there is ONE but that's housing plots, and as the community has proven for years, having more opportunities to play with people is more important to them than housing. That's why I'm saying the community of the game and SE needs to come up with ways to entice players to play on low populations servers, and maybe fill them up. Housing and free transfers aren't enough.
