If you are waiting for people to show up 20 min later for raids or hours, that's not a raid problem. The real problem is the people who doesn't show up on time, simple as that. I don't mind flying around to get to the raid spot or whatever, but keep in mind if you have to wait for someone to show up or you decide to do things while people are there already, then you are the problem. The game has fantastic landscape and areas, wish they could use them more, but everything is teleport based these days. People make it sound like it's a raid problem because people don't show up on time. What about removing the player who keeps making people wait and doesn't know what time is? XD. Oh yes I do agree, going to a raid spot isn't excaclty ''exploring open world'' you just fly to 1 spot and that's it. But yah, seriously tho if people don't show up on time, that's all on the person being late.

SE should disable all aetherites for a month. See how much you like traveling on foot to everything and anywhere after that .

Not sure if you talk to me or not. I come from FFXI and traveling there was a must. My honest opinion is games these days have been dumbbed down and brings more lazy people to the table. Don't get me wrong, I want some things we could do in the open world rather than click and just go into an instance, it just feels like a room with scrips we keep doing again and again and again and again. It's a loop pretty much. When HW was out, I was actually super excited to explore, it was the biggest excitement for me for a while in the game. Getting rekt by mobs and somewhat danger was exciting for me. Before people gonna tell me to quit the game or go back to FFXI, no I wont. I still enjoy this game and the people I play with, but some open world content and some danger would be awesome to have atleast. Sorry for the offtopic.

the state of being able to proceed with something without difficulty.
"services should be run to suit the convenience of customers, not of staff"
synonyms: benefit, use, good, comfort, ease, enjoyment, satisfaction

Now please explain why you feel the need for everyone to actually have to zone into and through several in game areas to get to a raid boss, when these people think it would be more convienient for them to directly zone in through DF or the new raid finder?
My point is everything in this game already gives convenience for everything, why is going to a specific spot for raiding or a dungeon a bad thing? Yes our open world is nothing special but that doesn't mean it can't be. People need to stop asking for everything to be done at the click of a button. DF is convenient but it makes the world a hub or lobby game just as Madolyn has said. This game deserves more than to be just a lobby/hub game.

All you people keep throwing the lazy card around. Honestly it makes you look unintelligent and single minded. Can you not see any other reason? Do you really have to resort to calling people lazy? What if they would rather just do the instance without spending time traveling in an uninteresting world? Oh right, you like it so clearly everyone else must love it too! How dare they spend money to play a game for a few hours after they get home from work each day and be as time efficient as they can! Those lazy people. >_>

I say lazy because it's true. Look at how games are compare to years ago. Look at ff games after ff12. They feed you with direction, people can't even do a rotation in this game and complain its hard when its not. Thats what I meant with lazy. I dont mind joining a duty finder, that's not what I meant by lazy. I never said it should go my way because I'm only stating my opinion, so don't put words in my mouth if you talk to me. Lazy are people who want's to craft 3 star but put no effort or not wanting to do effort in groups and let others do the job for you, that's lazy.

Only reason why I want some more open world content is because the game is beautiful and many and I'm very many agrees with me there. The details of landscapes during day and night. Snow, rain, clouds etc, it's all amazing, I want them to abuse those things a bit more.

So let me make it clear again, lazy are those people who want and want and want but never wanna do any effort or enough to obtain things they want.
So I want you to quote me where I say everyone have to like traveling just because I do.

Keep in mind, not trying to attack you, but saying things I never said is what you said:

First thing we'd have to get rid off is flying, since that pretty much exists solely to turn the open world into a background scene. Good luck with that, it's one of the more popular features.

That aside: Gathering is entirely done in the open world. FATEs as well, most side/daily quests too. Hunts in all its forms and treasure maps are open world as well.
Lobby style is used for: PvP, Guildhests, Dungeons, Trials and Raids. In all of these cases, the lobby serves to facilitate cross-server groups, which are supposed to become a thing for Savage as well with the advent of the raid finder. Thus, the NPC is redundant and cut out.

Personally, I don't see it as a big deal. I've waited for enough mountless alliance people at Razorfen Kraul or the Scarlet Monastery to gladly say good riddance to waiting for people to show up at the entrance.

The first thing that would happen is a bunch of people suddenly being confronted by the fact that only a small percentage of people actually remember how to get to the Western Highlands, let alone CloudTop from the expansion city. Then we have all the people who haven't done enough traveling to know how to get to Limsa Lominsa from Uldah...

That isn't the problem in my raid group, everyone is present and ready, but one person has forgotten that they need to meet in the zone (as it is the only content that requires this), with coil it was less of a problem as all 3 entrances were next to aetherytes, but alexander requires a few minutes of travel time meaning unnecessary waiting around, meaning if someone forgets its time lost on a simple mistake (and for what gain?).

I like the raid finder change.
