No its pure convience and nothing more. Guess what, lots of us actually like to do things rather than waiting around for people to sort themselves out for scheduled raid time. This way, i get to go gathering if i want whilst waiting for the raid, not stand around in one spot waiting and wasting my time.
I would agree with you if it took a long time to get places in this game, but with the teleport system, even the most remote locations in this game only take a few minutes to get to. Also, only the party leader needs to talk to the NPC, the rest just needs to be in the zone.
I come from FFXI, and I enjoyed the journeys on foot together with my party. It was part of what made that game so magical. I understand it's a different world now, but I would love to retain at least a little bit of that magic. An alternative would be if they made more relevant open world content for parties. Something like the Diadem, but a bit more thought-out.
Ok and about those times nodes and timed fishes for gathering?I would agree with you if it took a long time to get places in this game, but with the teleport system, even the most remote locations in this game only take a few minutes to get to. Convenience is about someone going to gather from them and being able to zone into the raid from where they are.
Usually when its raid time everyone should be there and ready to go. If you have someone late every single raid time then you have an issue with someone who should really learn time management skills. Or if you NEED to get that gathering node its kind of being rude to others by making them wait.
I like the way you are trying to majorly deflect from the actual debate.Usually when its raid time everyone should be there and ready to go. If you have someone late every single raid time then you have an issue with someone who should really learn time management skills. Or if you NEED to get that gathering node its kind of being rude to others by making them wait.
convenience
kənˈviːnɪəns/
noun
1.
the state of being able to proceed with something without difficulty.
"services should be run to suit the convenience of customers, not of staff"
synonyms: benefit, use, good, comfort, ease, enjoyment, satisfaction
Now please explain why you feel the need for everyone to actually have to zone into and through several in game areas to get to a raid boss, when these people think it would be more convienient for them to directly zone in through DF or the new raid finder?
Are we really trying to glorify the absolutely riveting experience of standing around at the raid entrance for 20 minutes waiting for everyone to show up? If you care that much you can just sit on your hands in front of the raid entrance for half an hour before you queue and it'll be the same exact time-wasting experience. If you want it to be truly realistic, add another 20+ minutes to simulate late people, afkers, and replacing no-shows. Now that's what I call excitement!
And considering that the Raid Finder pulls from the entire data center anyway I dunno how else you expect it to function.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
The inconvenience comes not from me having to allll the way to the hinterlands but actually the one guy who is asleep at his desk not going to the hinterlands (ocassionally I am that guy), and us having to wait for him to pay attention and zone in, just popping a DF makes a loud ping sound which is immediate and everyone can just go in.
I don't know. besides the standing around somewhere and waiting, I do sometimes miss games that had you travel to places. might as well just be a lobby game since you can do everything of substance from town basically.
