this is a game guys , u CANT force any1 to do anything , if they dont want to do this dungeon they are free to leave, they have a 3 strike rule anyway , and punished for 30 mins.
its a pain when it happens? yeah , it sucks that u have 1h to play , and wait 10 min on queue only to find that the tank leaves instantly >< but oh well

Actually, locking the roulette bonus on the first dungeon you get from that roulette would certainly stop people being assholes in this very specific way (i.e. trying to cherry pick their roulette dungeon). Queue a roulette, get a dungeon, now you can either finish it or queue up for that same dungeon later to get the bonus. That system would 100% fix the issue of people leaving because they don't like what they got in roulette. You guys are crying and complaining about a system that is completely working as intended. What you're actually wanting fixed are people being assholes. No system SE implements is going to stop someone from being an asshole. Just suck it up and carry on with your day, or group with your friends (if you have any) and solve your own problems.

They could do that, but it wouldn't stop people getting lucky with a good dungeon, backing out and soaking their penalty, then going back in with their buddies for that dungeon to get all their roulette rewards for the day. SE would have to implement a system that takes a roulette that you could normally queue for in a party, and then prohibit a party queue if you'd backed out before. Also, would the roulette lock then reset with the daily reset? What if it didn't? Should we lock someone to a roulette they got tossed into a week ago because they left it early because of other events to handle?Actually, locking the roulette bonus on the first dungeon you get from that roulette would certainly stop people being assholes in this very specific way (i.e. trying to cherry pick their roulette dungeon). There are other solutions to this issue too.
1) Play a tank or healer and have a shorter queue so that this issue is mitigated by something you can actually control.
2) Don't queue roulettes that you expect to end up being a waste of your time (same response for the other side, as has been said).
3) Queue with your friends playing a tank or a healer so that you can again mitigate the issues you have with other people.
As I've said before, there are ways for the player to solve these problems without demanding that SE hold your precious little hands so that none of the big meanies around town hurt your little feelings. Sorry to be brusque, but can we not just not fall down into our own pool of self-pity when something doesn't go exactly per your grand design?

um what makes you think it isnt already discouraging people from leaving? Will it get rid of it all? Of coarse not, you do not know the actual numbers of people the system detours away from walking out of a dungeon. Working as intended imo.The penalty is supposedly in place to try to discourage people being assholes (otherwise there's no real point to it being there at all)
The fact threads like this keep being made ought to be a sign that it's actually not "completely working as intended" as you seem to think it is.

I do this myself when a dungeon pops up that i have swore to never run again like Thousand maws, i'd happily take a 12 hour penalty than run that crap again.

Every time I see this thread I think the exact same thing: "Do these people not have FCs or linkshells?"
I mean really, this is an MMO, meet people and do things.
Increaseing the punishment isnt going to stop people like myself leaveing dungeons. Increase to whatever you want ill still drop and so will others. People like to make out your just wasteing time and you could have completed the dungeon in that time but the simple fact is we just do other things. If thats in game or outside there is always something to do. The only real tangable result of increaseing the time to like the OP surgests 12 hours is that there will be less people in DF and your waiting time will increase even more than it is already because like i said people like myself arent going to stop dropping dungeons.
How about they change the system so that if you drop out of a roulette dungeon in the first minute, you are flagged so that every time you choose that roulette, you are placed in that dungeon until such time as you clear it (maybe for that day only if you want to be generous).
makes it more fun when someone drops out anyway.
amdapor hm yesterday, tank disappeared shortly before first boss. one dps says we can't do the first boss (the insect with neuro schemer) without a tank, and sits down. me on noct ast and the nin kill it and press forward. kick sitting dps before second boss. we run in and a mch joins as we kill second boss, then we all carry on and finish the run.
people too quick to think that as soon as someone leaves, that's it. the product of having so many face roll dungeons, heaven forbid something happen which means you actually have to try
