This is not needed, learn to adapt.
lol@ cant do Darkhold with melee.
you can even do Darkhold with pure DD and 2 mages(includuing speed runs) possibly 1 mage for normal run if everyone have cures on their bar, as well as sleep and sentinel.
*all i see is, "i suck, make game more easy"*
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
I did.. for one we already have /sit. I'm not against an extra emote but do we need to acknowledge the direction they are taking regen by asking for what you're asking for? I think not. As to whether we need a way to regen in battle I agree with you there but did it occur to you that it was a deliberate removal? I'd like to get at the underlying thinking there and not just ask for it back.. because it was not a good thing to begin with. Standing around during combat doing nothing.. what is this??
I sit still when I play the game. Why not have my character do the same?
Considering that MP grants us access to unearthly abilities, I'd say having to stand still "meditatively" makes enough sense to me.
All I see is, "I'm too arrogant to read". I have had no problem whatsoever with beating Darkhold on speed. However please consider that there is a group of people that were ostracized by the status quo - which has nothing to do with what is or isn't technically possible. Coming in here and talking about 1 healer does nothing for this group of people. This is not needed, learn to adapt.

That's about as good a justification as we're ever going to get around here. Some of us would rather cut the time sink out.

What's stopping players from a run? How 'bout organization? These players relied on their linkshells for organization, but were not granted access. I think you know what's stopping players from trying to organize randoms. Where do we start? Time wasted trying to start one, unfamiliarity with strangers, etc. Come on use your head.
Har har har.. Let me ask you something. What point do you prove regarding MP costs affecting LNC, PGL, and MRD by running it with 5 players out of the thousands of players in the game?
You're partially right.
DEV TEAM => GAME DESIGN => COMMUNITY => PLAYERS
The community affects the players but the game design affects the community. Take your blinders off.
well i must say i agree with whats said. I was like awww man i liked getting rested while running but its no big deal.
However i will say it sucks reading most of the posts in here because as soon as someone does not like a change everyone screams at them saying easy mode....Like any change makes the game hard or easy for that matter. guys gotta get over yourself.
Seems to me they need to find a new LS then. If your LS is so crappy that it has to rely on ARC/CNJ parties in order to clear the dungeon, it's not worth running with them. By the same token, if your LS is so stupid that they think the only way to beat the dungeon is with ARC/CNJ parties, they're obviously not going to progress very far. As to organizing randoms, if people can stand around Uldah shouting for grind parties, it's not that far off to stand around shouting for Darkhold parties. If as many people are being oppressed as you seem to think, they should have lots of takers. What's stopping players from a run? How 'bout organization? As to what I hope to prove, if we can beat the dungeon with 5 players being in what's one of the "un-favored" classes, that immediately halts your crazy ARC/CNJ theory in its tracks. If the game is balanced such that we can beat the dungeon with, say, MRD, CNJ, THM, PGL x5; then the entirety of this alleged problem lies with the community. . .
A few points that should be addressed:
Firstly, given how the manner in which HP/MP is recovered is going through a significant change, one should not assume to know the rate at which they will regenerate while standing still. For all we know, said rate may have been increased to make up for the lack of regen while moving. There is also a mention of the regen rate increasing the longer one remains still. Currently we simply get a static increase in rate when we stand still as opposed to while moving, however it seems like post-1.19 since regen is only possible when remaining still, the increase in rate may be gradual.
Another thing worth mentioning is the significant boon passive casting will serve for mages as far as MP management goes. It is common practice for a healer to remain well-positioned and stationary for a long duration during boss battles. As the changes suggest, mages will be recovering MP constantly between actions.
Complemented with MP conserving habits that experienced mages built after 1.18, I feel that this change will allow for mages to keep MP at much higher values for a longer duration. In the end though, this is one of those things that we cannot know until we try.
You should appreciate the significant chance that, with mages having better MP regen, that healing will no longer be a major issue - effectively removing this bias on PGL, MRD and LNC you seem so keen on bringing up.
While it is true that problems do trickle down in that order, it is also true that not all problems have their source at the Dev Team. A problem can very well originate withing the community with no precedence, or justified reason due to Game Design.
