lolwut? I remember getting called a troll for confirming that DH can be cleared just fine without ARC/CON pts, until I posted pics on the forums proving it. And lol @ 4 mages, it can be cleared with 2, or even only 1 if you have the skill.

Seriously man, shit's gonna get nerfed and buffed left and right as the patches keep rolling in. If you're any good at playing casting classes I'm sure you'll adapt just fine. And besides, Featherfoot is the answer to your problems.

I don't think you see the problem. It's not what the hardest of the hardcore can't overcome, it's what the MP costs did to LNC, MRD, and PGL.

Huh? MRD still goes as tank, LNC still goes as DPS. . . PGL got knocked down a rung, I think, but it had nothing to do with MP costs.

What, you mean managing their TP and timing weapon skills correctly? That adds depth to fights instead of just spamming abilities when they're ready. AKA: Skillful Play

The ONLY melee class that got slapped in the face with MP costs was PUG, and that burden is being alleviated in 2 days.

Don't be so blind.. there are a lot of players that never got a chance to beat Darkhold because of MP costs to mages. Too many mages filled their DPS slots.. come on, this is old news.

MeowyWowie, how is someone going to demonstrate skillful play when they're not even invited to participate?

And what's stopping them from organizing a run? Laziness?

Of course, that assumes your point is even remotely valid. . .

Darkhold can be cleared with 1-2 mages.

I will admit having 1 mage makes it quite challenging and is not recommended. With 2 mages however it is entirely possible. Of course it requires tight coordination and skillful play from every player in the party, but who enjoys that amirite?

Hey Noc! Think we can organize a 5-PGL run tomorrow, just to prove a point? :P

That's an issue with the community, not the game.

100 bucks says the first party setup to kill Ifrit will be the "optimal" setup and the same shit happens again. But it's not because other party setups don't work, it's because many people don't want to waste the time trying different strategies, they'd rather go with what's been proven to work just to complete the content as quickly as possible. (I find this extremely humorous as these are the same players keep asking for "HARD" content, not realizing that the content is only "HARD" until a strategy is formed.) This is further emphasized by the small population, resulting in only a very small amount of players actually attempting different strategies.

So overall you have 80% of the population using the "optimal setup" while the other 20% are trying different things (just pulling numbers out of my ass, but that's probably pretty accurate). So it only appears that the "optimal setup" is more effective, simply because more players have completed it like that as opposed to those who've completed it with different setups.
