I'm glad we received news about egi glamour, can't wait to see it happen.
I don't quite share the same sentiment about the "one egi for every role" posted here and the whole offhand reasoning, it's just too much dev work and time for a single class content which ends up benefitting a very marginal playerbase (only summoners and not even all of them), not to mention collateral effects like "Ramuh Stone -8 mil in the market board!" if the system is not handled properly.
New Egis are needed because a summoner should be able to summon every primal he/she defeated to stay true to its fantasy roots and I'm glad we may be receiving it in a few months, however the system should remain simple and intuitive by having a primal fill a role among the existing ones along the lines of:

Caster: Emerald Carby - Garuda Egi - King Moogle Mog Egi -Ramuh Egi - Enkidu Egi- Phoenix Egi- Bahamuth Egi - Warring Triad#3

Tank: Topaz Carby - Titan Egi - Shiva Egi- Bismarck Egi - Alexander Egi - Sephirot Egi

Melee: Ruby Carby - Ifrit Egi - Odin Egi -Leviathan Egi - Ravana Egi - Thordan Egi - Warring Triad#2

After somekind of new quest to summon a new egi we'd only need to have defeated its primal form and then swap our current active egis with somekind of "lore ritual" at some npcs/menus/etc as a workaround to "lore" reasons of our aether being limited to three pets.
Summoners would still need to do optional content like the Triad, Coil, Odin etc if they want to be able to summon specific egis not tied to the main scenario, if that's not enough we could even expand on this by having some Egis glow/look a bit differently if the EX encounter is completed.

Bonus suggestion : having the Egi flashing to its (smaller) primal form during Enkindle would be a nice throwback to oldschool "one hit move" summoners of early Final fantasy titles.
