I mean this by you want to remove the perk of being able to repair your gear in a dungeon, someone else wants to make it so NPCs can meld materia onto gear. All of these requests keep popping up and while any one by itself is nothing, combine them all together and you now have a lot of the bonuses to leveling DoH removed from the game purely because not everyone wants to level DoH.

    You know what even more convenient is if you repair your own gear by leveling crafting you can get 200% durability instead of only 100%

    You don't think people who only have fun with combat having to rely on crafters/crafting is a bad thing? Tying the two in directly with each other is unnecessarily inconvenient to some people, myself included.

    If you think inconveniencing us and neglecting a QoL improvement everyone could benefit from, including crafters, is the only way to maintain the worthwhile perks and benefits of DoH classes....then maybe the crafting system needs to be revamped.

    You must also remember how incredibly story based FFXIV is compared to other MMOs, and how most of the dungeons we enter are commented to be too dangerous for others to enter. Only in the odd few to you ever see npcs. Adding NPCs for this would not make sense in that case... If you added it to dungeons too, would it stop at that? Or would a repair npc have to stand there while Bismarck is destroying your island?

    And as mentioned before, we can't take too much from DoH, or there would be little point to them aside from being glamour makers. I too have forgotten to repair before entering a dungeon and had stuff break. It's not the end of the world, and usually have something in the Armoury to temporarily change too for the remaining duration.

    Ok, so, you have explicitly stated that you do not enjoy crafting, do not want to level crafters, but want a revamp of the crafting system because you can't be bothered to remember repairing your gear before queuing for a dungeon?

    The short answer?

    Because some of them drop so freaking often, there's no sense in even discarding them.

    I may as well keep inventory slots devoted to bone chips with how often they end up in my inventory.

    If the game had a loot filter or something (another thing a previous MMO I played had), it would alleviate the problem some.

    I ask for a simple QoL feature all players could benefit from and say that depriving non-crafters of QoL improvements in order to maintain "attraction to crafting" might be a sign that the crafting system in the game might need some work...

    ...and I'm making unreasonable demands. Okay then....see ya.

    The only time I had my gear break on a dungeon, I was running roulettes and kept thinking, I'll repair it after this dungeon, just to instant queue in the next roulette so I couldn't go repair, and then my right side broke during Pharos Sirius normal. Just a question about the other MMO, is it Guild Wars 2? Because they actually removed the cost of repairing gear because even if it was a gold sink, it was largely considered a pointless gold sink by both the staff and community.

    How about if SE just added the option of other players that did level their crafts to be able to repair your gear while inside dungeon like they can their own? Would that make you happy or still demand a NPC to do it?
