Actually, I have never in my playing this game for almost 3 years have had this problem.

That's exactly what a dungeon NPC's purpose would fulfill. That's why we have NPCs outside of dungeons too....

I understand that lots of people enjoy unnecessary and purposeless inconvenience, but I'll never understand why exactly.

The last MMO I played used durability in the same way, and it worked just as well in dungeons as out of dungeons.
I do realize that is the purpose, and I still see it as redundant to do what you're asking. The "unnecessary and purposeless inconvenience" can be said about durability in general though. It doesn't matter what your last MMO was, that's not how it is here

Good for you. I have had this problem, so it exists.

    It's not redundant.

Repair NPCs outside dungeons remove gil from the economy.

Repair NPCs inside dungeons would remove gil from the economy.

The purpose of durability is to remove gil from the economy.

Therefore, like the already existing NPCs outside of dungeons, NPCs inside dungeons would also fulfill this purpose. It's not complicated.

And it does matter actually. I am making a suggestion based on something I believe the previous MMO I played did right and would like for it to be applied here as well.

Unless suggestions are unwanted and emulating success is a bad thing?

Just because you are annoyed by crafting doesn't mean others are, and those who have invested in leveling their crafters get to enjoy the benefits. If you don't want to level crafters, then better learn to watch your durability more closely.
I stress this again. Not everyone enjoys crafting. I do not. I should not have to craft and cram my inventory further in order to afford to be forgetful just because crafting benefits.

This "benefit" that crafting has is simply a partial lack of a detriment that other players have to suffer.

It really doesn't. And it must not be TOO successful, since you're here and not there complaining about wanting here to be like there =) Suggestions are more than welcome, just don't think everyone will mindlessly follow the bad ones "just cause"
