No...I know what I'm talking about. PWI (during PvP) players will spam a jump to not only avoid being hit but also to avoid being targeted in general. In WoW, large groups of jumping idiots will lag the game in terms of FPS, especially during combat. Same goes for RoM (which I still play).

As far as the FFXIV community being more mature, I doubt it. Been to FFXIVPRO lately? There is so much crying over x player getting x rank faster than y player on z job. This crying is then followed by y player's friends spamming bot and hack reports to GMs then spewing their jealously all over the forums of FFXIVPRO. Mature? I don't think so.

If they want jumping, don't put any type of PvP into the game. If they want PvP, don't put any form of free jump into the game.

As far as the overall community goes, I really do think the Final Fantasy community is the one I prefer. You can pick out obnoxious forums/people for any game, just like you can pick out a very mature community. Everyone thinks the WoW community is horrible, have you ever been to ElitistJerks? They are more mature there than on most forums, they ban you on the spot for making stupid comments or speculations of any sort.

Having played WoW in large PvP environments like raids on faction capitals and 40 vs 40 battlegrounds like Alterac Valley, even 5v5 arena or something like Warsong Gulch, I have never seen, even in a video, jumping causing FPS issues. If you are personally experiencing an FPS drop when people jump in an MMO like WoW, I am amazed that your computer can run FFXIV. If you can find a video that shows someone's FPS meter drop when people start to jump, you are more than welcome to share it with us. As far as using the jump mechanic to exploit targeting in something like PvP, if they do add jump, as long as they implement it correctly that will not even be an issue.

Seriously this thread needs to end. Yoshi-P needs to come in here and settle it. 20,000 views with almost 850 posts? Mostly all of which nobody cares what the other thinks and just states their beliefs again. Just implement this stupid thing. Do what Nephera says and take away jump if you engage in combat. I don't see how this thread is just as important as other key points in this game where people are not satisfied....Are you really going to base your decision on either staying or leaving the game based on something as stupid as this? Grow the hell up.

Yes, just implement it without giving it more though and end up with a crappy update in hands.

Anyway. Jumping should be possible but as a Stamina based action that uses all your stamina as much as the possibility to climb over small elevations or dropping down from ledges. Like a "Press O to climb" or "Press O to drop down"

And I really think this game needs to allow the player the ability to die if one jumps off a high height as the reward for the smart idea of jumping off the cliff.

They are, yes, professionals, but they are far from knowing everything. Each persons idea is valid, each, may or may not, contribute with the main topic of this thread. But you can not judge peoples Ideas because you feel like doing so.

Seriously? This is exactly what the third sentence in my paragraph was clearly stating. State your opinion, then leave it at that. After now going on 855 threads there's really nothing new that you can discuss that's of really any importance. We've touched base on every nook and cranny this thread has to offer. I do not need you to ramble on about your opinion now. You've stated it clearly. I think we've got this discussion over with. Let's move on.

There are far more pressing matters over class diversity and in game mechanics. Go read some of the threads there and devote your time to these topics. I highly doubt you can say anything new that already hasn't come up, so why keep it up? Go make a difference somewhere else of more importance. I already accepted the fact they're going to implement this regardless of what people think. What I don't know is how they will do it. But really? Don't care. I'll play regardless.

However. I will not continue to play if the current armoury system and classes go unchanged. Stop posting now on this thread. Go see or make a thread with your idea on how to improve these key elements in the game that need fixing. I'll lead by example. I've already made my opinion heard in this thread, so I'll leave and never.....Ever.....Post in this thread again. Goodbye.
