Why are low standards for dps acceptable?

I said it once already in this thread and I'll repeat it.

If you chose to use DF then you should expect at least some of the time to run into poor players. That is just a reality of grouping with completely random people. Nothing you say or do will change that.

If you run into these players you have 3 choices. First is to Vote Dismiss and hope it goes your way. Second is to Leave group. Third is to simply soldier on and finish the dungeon. That is it. There is no way you can or ever will be able to force players to get better at playing or force poor players to not use DF. You can complain about it till the cows come home and it still won't change a thing.

Simply put, recognise your 3 choices and make your peace with whatever you decide. All you do by getting worked up over it is at best stress yourself out and at worse end up getting accused of harassment. By all means try and give other players advice if you think they can do better but don't expect people to always listen or take that advice.

I completely agree with everything you said. Sadly the game we play has a pretty big population of people who apparently cannot read and must mash their way through stuff without learning what they should actually be doing and don't react well to criticism at all.

We also have a group of people who don't offer advice or constructive criticism in a good way at all.

I feel if duty finder level of skill improved you'd find more people using it. I myself will only use it as a last resort as I've grown tired of seeing me out DPS the DPS as my scholar.

And you know what? You're absolutely right. With any online game, you're going to have people who play poorly. My argument, and I believe the argument of a lot of people here, is that this is happening more and more frequently. I rip hate all the time off tanks as SMN, healers refuse to remove debuffs, people using auto attack and not positioning for certain moves...I think people are at their breaking points.

I got kicked recently for tanking with str accesories and dropping tank stance on bosses with a heal onry healer. He said wannabe dps tanks trigger him. I told him healers that don't dps trigger me. Shortly after that I was removed from duty.
Atleast I could laugh about it.

Another time I was healing as a scholar and dpsing during mass pulls, tank would often dip below 3k hp before I healed him. I made sure he never died while still contributing to dps, yet he took offense to being below half health allot and starting raging at me. He told me I suck because I can't keep his hp up. I tried to explain what I was doing, but got kicked before I could finish.

Tldr;
Some terrible players can't handle good play and kick the good player.

There. No matter what you do, you think you are doing the right thing (and you were, except with STR acc as Tank when I'm healing <- joking)

And you get kicked for whatever doesn't please the rest of them.

So, you grow tired of their [....] and simply choose to go along.

Lots will have lost their will, I hope you will continue to play the way you are.

But for them, you were the terrible player. It's a catch 22.
