I'm surprised alot of people don't use reclaim. I for 1 have very poor luck at times with hasty touches(80%) failing 3+ times in a row. 2 star mats are too expensive to waste. Idk maybe I need to get more gil so the loses won't hurt as much.

With the rotation I use I have to fail 5+ hasty touches in order to even consider reclaiming. Which happens very infrequently. I've only had one NQ two star item over the last four months which would have benefited from reclaim. SO that makes it hard to justify being on the bar.

That's pretty good but I can't say my luck is that good with touches or percentages for hq. (RNG) I just stack as much CP as I can get to get a few basic and precise touches I can get. 1 item in 4 months is amazing.

I get quite a number of crafts in which there'll be 4-6 misses. What I've noticed though is that these crafts often also coincide with an abnormally high number of good procs. My basic rule of thumb is that if you're missing like crazy, you should spend your cp on durability restores instead of basic or precise touch. It's sometimes possible to completely absorb 4 or 5 misses and still end up with 11 stacks of inner quiet.

That said, I always equip reclaim on final crafts as a precaution anyways since your starting quality is really high. Skills like waste not 2 and even careful synthesis 2 are not essential.

Yeah Minerva is right. I've only had one 2 star endgood miss 5+ times which had zero good procs and was salvageable at the end. There have been a handful of items with ~5 hasty fails with good procs making them entirely salvageable to HQ.

On the other hand I have sloppily NQed (and even broken) a number of one star goods and two star materials. None of which would have been recovered by reclaim, as they were simple collateral damage to how I craft. Which is quickly, and recklessly as time is worth more than money in almost all cases for me. I'm never short gil... I'm always short time. So its resulted in rather funny crafting beliefs.

So while I've had good luck on my 2 star end goods, my crafting has not been perfect or infallible by any means ;-)

If it's 3 star which seems likely then depending on any upgrade stats we get, the ideal rotation may look very different. Useless conjecture from me but this thread is "2* crafting rotation" and so a new thread would be necessary in that case.

reclaim is the worst skill IMO. I've only used it 8 times on extremely unlucky HT 2-star and 7 of those times it failed to reclaim.. I know RNG and all, but seriously. 7 out of 8 is not reasonable....

I love and HATE reclaim. I use it so rarely. But its highly useful when you're making things which are EXTREMELY expensive to HQ but worthless if you NQ.

i totally agree, i have made the same experience.
i made around 150-200 crafts of 2 star and use around 10 times reclaim and 7 fails of them on gear and it was 3 times on body gear which was really really painfull to my wallet.
one time i even didnt use reclaim and fail and still get my stuff back xD dont know how high the chance is but atm it seems higher for me ^^
