If there is a lot of AoE, then consider using Tri-Bind (only on groups of 5+, otherwise Ruin III will be better DPS).
Must be the only skill I didn't even put on my bar, and not gonna start.

I'd recommend getting in for Blizz II though, usually you can place yourself in range without having to worry too much about AoEs
Sure, for that pull right after Minotaur boss in Fractal, or when 3-4 mobs are left over and I used my stacks. But when the pull is 'new' and at near full HP? Nope. They aoe everything everywhere. I'd lose way more dps avoiding their aoes than ignoring the tactics entirely.
