Its hurtful that I am to be in the same classified as those that afk dps. That im just like them and get bashed when doing my fullest when do not. While it certainly wasn't your intention, the missteps you made in this thread actual answer the question on the main reason why there are so many bad dps pinky_pie. Sure, there are some people who don't give a damn, but I'd like to believe that the majority of bad dps are like you, people who believe they've mastered a job.
Ahh, see this is the problem. You have excuses for yourself, but you're still willing to assume the worst of any "bad" DPS you're with. They must be afk! There could be people who caught you on bad days, and just assumed you were a shit DPS. Maybe even complained about you on the forums. Is that fair? Why not try giving others the benefit of the doubt, as you would want them to do for you.

I"ll remember that when someone spams one skill next time and nothing else, I won't question them anymore. I'll just let them do their thing for now on. *sigh*Ahh, see this is the problem. When you see someones glamour with non matching boots
Dr. Phil says winners never give anyone the benefit of the doubt. I must be a winner!Ahh, see this is the problem. You've gotten a little hyperbolic here. I certainly don't throw you into the same class as afk dps. People that are afk aren't even bothering to try. I value my time ingame, so I don't care to game with people like that. You're someone that actually tries, which counts for a lot. Look, I'm not one to just come out and bash someone for their numbers, but I am one to be realistic about it. For a long time, my static's DRG had low parses but we kept him on because he's always solid on mechanics. Several people urged us to replace him and get someone that parsed higher, but we were hesitant to do so because he's a good player. Finally, we started having problems clearing content so we had a talk with him and sat him down with one of the top DRG on our server for some pointers. He's now one of the top DPS in the static and has stuck with us through all of the roster bullshit we've gone through.
So you have room to improve - so what? Work at it. The things I said to you weren't meant to tear you down on a personal level and I'm sorry if it came across that way. They were meant for two things: to refute the comments made in the original post (mostly regarding it being easy to pick up and master a class) that you've since apologized for, and to give you a basis for comparison on your tank parses. I don't think anyone's trying to say that you don't deserve to speak out about lazy DPS (we do seem to have a lot of them) but the way the original post was worded kind of steered the thread in a bad direction.
I'm not exactly the world's greatest DPS myself (not to mention I'm a PLD main in a DRK/WAR meta). If you aren't happy with how you're performing, that can be handled one of two ways. You can either do your best to get better or you can quit. I work on my gear, ask questions of people that I consider to be better than I am, and most importantly I take each improvement as a victory, no matter how small it is. I put my Savage parses out on FFLogs because I'm proud of the progress I've made even on my main class. My static's monk teases me in a good-natured way and says "show me how to monk," when we run content together, mostly because I pick his brain every so often for pointers and he knows I'm trying to get better at it. Am I the best? Not even close. I'm not awful either, though. I'm decent enough that I have fun playing it, which makes it a nice break from tanking and healing. Work at it till you're happy with it. The only way you lose is if you give up completely.

Whoa, that's some true self-deprecation there. I didn't mean to imply you were a garbage player or anything, only that believing that you mastered a class, but not actually mastering the class because the game itself doesn't give any feedback of the mistakes you are making(analyzing a parse would show you, but youd have to know what to look for, and the first post implies you don't actually parse yourself) is what I hope most of the dps who aren't doing as well as they could be are doing.
Pinkie I just wanted to say your only truly as bad as the people you complained about if you give up. So what if you had logs thrown at you who cares just keep working to improve because it is worth it. If you keep improving the people you group with in the future will appreciate it. I mean I know I am not the greatest dragoon in the game and I am not going to get world top logs but that doesn't bother me I will raid just the same and clear content just the same. People will be heartless on the internet so all the more reason just to keep up with what you are doing and improving and having fun. Hell if I let every person that called me bad or w/e keep me down I would have never beat A3 and 4 savage but I ignored them and kept working at my dps and my ability to handle mechanics and it worked out. Sorry if I rambled off topic there but basically don't give up keep improving and have fun that is all I wanted to say.

Im sorry, Im just emotional exhausted now. Through all this.Pinkie I just wanted to say your only truly as bad as the people you complained about if you give up. It's absolutely amazing to see what has transgressed in this thread...
I wish the numbers were even invisable to parser programs and everyone just though "Sweet we owned it this time" or "Shit his HP isn't falling fast enough! Zerg Harder!!!!".
Players having the " My/Your DPS" vs an "Our DPS" mind set is the real issue.
