The development team makes this stuff with the belief that the playerbase is generally good and won't price gouge each other and will instead work together to complete these things. They're wrong.

It's their mechanism to make specialist crafting work after all the complaints about it. It's also a way to more or less force players to diversify their crafting instead of everyone specializing in the same 3 crafts the same way that the zeta quest items required different desynth mats forcing a diversification of desynthing skills.
