Why is "It's something to do" apparently a valid defense?

My 'defense' is that I'm actually enjoying it. I understand that plenty of people aren't but I am. I respect the opinions of those who are unhappy with the situation even if I don't agree with everything they say. Please return the courtesy.

Whilst it's great that you're enjoying yourself, your join date implies you haven't been playing all that long.

Those of us that have been here since launch have been doing this for over two years already. The expansion added nothing truly new, just more of the same. The relic is quite literally just a copy and paste job of the 2.X relic before they nerfed it. The devs are just recycling content and on top of that the patches are being delayed whilst becoming smaller and lower quality.

It's fine for you because you're new and you can't see the cracks yet. Those of us that have been here since the beginning can see how incredibly lazy the devs are being and we're tired of it. They are NOT putting our subscriptions to good use.

People say it's something to do because others are whining that there's no content left for them. These relics are implemented, literally, to give us something to do while the new content isn't flowing.

People are crying that they don't have any content to do but then cry when they give us something time consuming to work on. The relic isn't even difficult. In short, if people's argument is the "lack of content", they're going to get the response that actually, there is content, you just don't want to do it.

As another player said, if you don't like it, that's fine. You don't have to do it. But respect other people's opinions who do like it and stop jumping down their throat. Some people enjoy it and they have every right to.

Grind is NOT content. New content would be new places to go, new enemies to kill, etc. This relic quest is having us redo OLD content hundreds of times. It's added nothing new, nothing to do; it's simply a carrot to keep us playing. Please don't confuse the two.

Most aren't even complaining about the grind anyway. The fact is, given the time the third stage of the relic will take to complete, most won't finish it before 3.2 renders the reward obsolete. What's the point in a grind with no reward?
