I know that, what I was getting at is that the only time I've seen truly valid points about healers and tanks *needing* to increase their damage output is in Alex Savage discussions.

As I've tried to make clear to Odette as well, I am not saying that healers should not do any damage, I'm saying that we should not be placing that expectation on them.

If by "incredibly easy" you mean the same as a DPS class parsing 1k+ in said dungeons, then I agree.

Who said that a healer *needs* to DPS? Just curious, I did not see it.

Yes, I agree and think we mostly see eye to eye on that overall situation. I was merely defending my posts against the other person. I do not think there is anything wrong with discussing how choosing not to DPS as a healer makes you a worse player. It does, because you're contributing less to the team. It doesn't mean you HAVE to do it, and I won't even ask you to do it, it just means you don't play as well

As for expectations, it depends on how you mean. In duty finder, my expectations are rather low. I'm expecting that I will be doing 50-70% of the over all damage of the dungeon, and that the healer will not be helping and the tank will not be pulling lots of mobs. However, if we're talking about what we expect of good players, or would like of players then I do expect it.

Well, that is pretty easy too, but I'd say DPSing as a healer is a lot easier than getting 1k parses in dungeons. I mean it kind of depends if you include AoE in that number, are you talking about overall or just boss encounters etc.

In the first boss of Arboretum I do around 600 DPS as a healer (i203) with a half decent tank, as a Ninja I could do 1k (i190), and to me the ninja is way easier and with less things to take care at the same time.

As I said, not in this topic.
