Pretending to dps in dungeons, is this a new fad?

"nothing is wrong as long as we finish this dungeon". you get people who pretend to do something but you can't really tell them otherwise you're an elitist for wanting everyone to go full tryhard on a dungeon that's just for fun. people are too cautious or tired to point shit out because when they do, they get chewed on by other carebears. i can spam whatever skill i like as dps and if my numbers are shit, what are you going to do? i can just say i'm not a good player or i just play for fun and now i'm the poor victim.

"i'll let this slide since i won't meet this guy again in df probably". you get people who will keep on doing it since they won't piss someone off repeatedly to the point of reporting him or something.

when i was still subbed and playing, i myself had these thoughts and i doubt i was the only one. i was either the one carrying or being carried depending on whatever i feel like doing that day.

Hypocrisy alert: I absolutely hate healer dps, and as a dps or tank, I'll happily lower my own DPS justso tthat the healer can waste more mp.

As far as the hypocrisy goes? I DPS as a healer pretty much constantly in all content I do, and it's the most soul crushingly boring aspect of any job I've ever played.

Some people enjoy it, but I'm not one of those. But, you know. Play how you want I guess. I prefer a healer that focuses on healing when I tank/DPS because the my contribution actually matters.

A healers job is done as long as nobody dies, doesn't take much "focus". It doesn't matter that you fell to 90% as a tank. Eating your cake too means actually doing something for the 21 seconds your Regen is doing your job for you and still probably over healing.

I think they give you a bit of time after your sub ended to have access to the forums.

DPSing as a healer is the most boring thing ever to me. When I'm a healer, I find it infinitely more fun when I have to scramble to keep everyone alive because as an example, my co healer died and I need to keep everyone alive, and I need to make snap decisions on my aetherflow usage.

Unfortunately I like the green colored dps more than the other healers for its faux tactical mind set, so all I ever get to do is DPS. Boring!
