You seem to be misunderstanding the concept of a queue. If you're in line at the post office, you can't "pause" to go the the bank and pick up your same place in the line with the same people when you return.
But if I go to get a haircut, and there's a 25 minute wait when I walk in, I can put in my name and go next door and eat without losing my place in line.
An indefinite pause would be too easy to abuse, but a 5-10 minute hold wouldn't be unreasonable.
In the case of a haircut you're waiting on the barber who presumably knows how long he will take. With a duty queue you're waiting on other players. 7 people shouldn't have to wait for one.
And they wouldn't have to. It would just be a matter of changing your status so you don't get matched with a party/instance.
Except it's not.
Say you're number 4 on the healer queue list for Diadem. You hit the pause button, walk away for 3 minutes, and 7 healers have entered while you were away. You unpause, and you're next in line to be paired up.
Yes this could be horribly abused, so there would have to be a time limit on the pause before it times out, it would have to be done before your pairing starts for an instance, and there would need to be a limit on how often you can use it.
It could also kick on/off automatically when getting a CS for a quest.
yes you can , its called ticket number...the number is at 35 now ....and my number is 2000....i can leave and come back that i dont lose my place
SE can show the number of #insert_your_role_here ahead of you
if there are 300 dps or 3 u can almost know how long u willl wait
Again, another problem with that is that it assumes everyone is solo queuing at any given time and that no one ever withdrawals. It's simply not plausible.yes you can , its called ticket number...the number is at 35 now ....and my number is 2000....i can leave and come back that i dont lose my place
