However, I get the feeling that ultimately, advanced technology and knowledge or not, the Sharlayans will be forced into the same conflict as the rest of the world.
The Astrologian quests indicated the policy of non-interference was because of the Bibliothec faction, under the time mage Sylvestre and probably others like [whatshisname] Leveilleur (Louisoix's son). Leveva implied Sharlayan used to be more actively involved in international politics centuries ago than they are now.

The Astrologian quests would not have been the first to reveal that, actually; Alphinaud and Alisaie's Tales from the Calamity revealed that long ago. But you have to think that there's more to it than meets the eye, cauz obviously they would know that simply observing conflict will do nothing to solve it.

Yeah, I think the higher up-- more or less-- know or have an idea about what'll happen.

The Gerun Chronicles was lying around in the Great Gubal Library and the Mezaya's prophecies (lists the 7 umbral eras even before they began) is available for scholars, so I do think that a bit of foresight of events. They did invent astromancy, after all.

Is any one else worried that Yda may have taken the whole, most of her friends may be dead thing a little hard, given apparently none of her friends are dead?

I speak of her apparent bloodthirstiness, with Papalymo commenting on the possibility of their ambush being bloody business, her hoping it will be, and the rest of their exchange. If we read him as the sensible one supposed to keep them on task, he's doing something of a poor job of it. Maybe. I could be reading this wrong.

Totally, but I think it's a normal reaction under the circumstances. She and Papalymo stayed behind to make sure everyone else could get out, fairly confident that they would all be getting out alive (she has solo'd a Castrum). Instead, they get out as planned and hear down the grapevine that the Scions are all missing-presumed-dead and the Warrior of Light is a fugitive. I imagine for her it would be the worst possible outcome, and she'd blame herself more than a little for not sticking with the group.

Granted, with the coup in Ul'dah reduced to a cul-de-sac, all this is good character work only until someone dies over it. If we ever make it back to the hints of Ascian involvement that Minfilia was so sure of, then there is still something more serious going on there and all bets are off.

Yda just might be Ala Mhigan. We know how they could be with the resistance and all, especially since they most likely received word of the WoL and co stiffing up Ishgard ... at thevery least of Nanamo's and Raibahn back in action

Tiamat seems to be trying to break free of her bindings in Azyz Lla. Did she always do that? The movement is subtle but it's there - and I'm pretty certain it wasn't happening before 3.1 went live.

You know, I went and checked expecting it to just be her regular rather rhythmic breathing, but I definitely don't remember the neurolinks across her upper body/chest shaking in such a manner.

I remember them shaking before, not sure how much though.

I would expect to see more movement from her overall if she were trying to free herself; her head and wings move the same as before (which is to say almost not).

If it isn't just a weird graphical glitch, I suspect that it may be the neurolinks moving rather than her; perhaps they're sensitive to whatever is happening to the Triad...

EDIT: I do notice her green coloration is more apparent now, especially on her wings...though it may just be the weather and camera angle I'm starting at right now

There are also shaking neurolinks in the cutscene when you first met her. Can't check myself right now, if they're more shaking now.
