To be fair, Midgardsomnr and even Tiamat said that she could break free at any time, but chose not too. While I don't think that she's struggling to break free is that reason they might be moving, It's more possible that the links are growing weaker.

I always concluded the fact that she's "struggling" is because she's in constant agony and due to her personal depression over bahamut is trying to relieve the agomy with out actually freeing herself.

Since Nidhogg is seemingly some sort of Primal now (since his new body seems to be forged from Aether and his 'hate') I could see him Tempering Tiamat. That'd be an interesting route and highlight the fact that Dragons, too, are at risk of Nidhogg's wrath and madness.

Not necessarily. We know that those descended from one of the 12 knights can drink dragon blood and turn into dragons themselves. In regards to Estinian, he was covered by Nidhogg's blood and we was pretty much been using Nidhogg's eye for who's how long. i personally believe that Nidhogg - being a greatwyrm- created a dragon body from Estian's. Maybe the 2 eyes kickstarted Estinian's transformation?

Tiamat breaking free is infinitely more interesting than any plot point with Nidhogg for me.

Assuming the bindings aren't exactly comfortable, she may just be having non voluntary physiological reactions to her physical pain. Or both.

I'd really like to see her become our bridge to Meracydia. She could be our envoy to the remaining dragons there, and the Miqo'te, if they revered her at some point. That's probably a good question to ask at some point: What was Bahamut and Tiamat's relationship to the Miqo'te before they left Meracydia? I know there's very likely no answers, but is a question that would have to answered sooner or later.

I used to afk next to her sometimes. Her links were always shaking, and I chalked it up to animation choppiness.

But I agree that her story is infinitely more interesting than Nidhogg's. She can potentially be the Scions' personal ally, once it's been revealed to her how we took care of the source of her depression. In sure she felt Bahamut primal's demise, but perhaps knowing the details will convince Tiamat to wake up. Being accepted by Dad is our bridge to forming this relationship.

i doubt it's pain any more. She's been locked up for so long that any feeling of pain would have become normalcy.

no, at this point she only feels sorrow and regret. The neurolinks probably don't even work at full capacity any more. if she wanted to leave, she would have centuries ago.
