3.1 PLD changes look good

The changes are great. We might need more tp in long fights without jumps but we wont be able to tell that til 3.1 drops. I see alot of people on here talk about fracture. Take it off ur hotbar (its not a dps gain its a loss). Pld doesnt have the best cross skills so when i took it off my hotbar i added protect. Ill hear alot of heat saying that but it IS utility. Say ur healer dies or u have a heavy dps healer and a dps dies, upon raise u can protect them urselves without taking others away from there job/duty and without losing alot of dps. Clemency is solid if u know how to use it. Devine seal is awesome. Sheltron was just made better and when more physical busters come will make it even better. Pld ISNT and WASNT in a bad place. People just need to learn how to use there skills correct and learn to maximize there own rotations. I never have tp or hate issues. Its called skill over ilev. And ill take a skilled player at 185 then a not so skilled player at 205

You're either completely ignorant of your own classes strength in 2.x, or you view that as "balance"- when your tank is the de facto MT and the other tank is either dropped for a fifth dps or is your opener and slash debuff/path boy. Either way, please get real. You had an entire xpac cycle in the sun. War shines for one patch and everyone wants to tear them back down to that eye/storm peon position.

People who think WAR didn't make a great MT in 2.X after it was fixed are hilariously wrong, I did T12 with WAR MT and there were absolutely no problems whatsoever because all of WARs defensive cooldowns have higher uptime than PLD's and are only marginally weaker. WAR could easily solo tank the, well, solotankeable turns of SCOB just as well as PLD, people just were very slow to notice just how good WAR was.

Are you joking? War wasn't even needed in half the content. And in the other half when a pld MT actually tried to push dps they could MT full time in SwO after voking off a War opener.

Now that the "WAR is not supposed to be MT" mentality is gone, you just have to do some tests.
Go in lvl50 synced at the lowest ilvl or, at least, gear available when the content was released, and I'm pretty sure you'll realize you can tank anything as good as a PLD.

Yes i am serious. If u need an "OP" team to clear or if u need to sac to clear, your doing something wrong or people are not pulling there own. Peoppe that blame classes are not looking at the fight right. They test every class before they put new content out. If ur saying yoshi p is wrong ur just ignorent. Its not like he took a shit mmo and made it one of the best out there. I do 700+dps in regular incounters. I do almost 600 in a1s with jumps. If plds are only hitting 400 thats there own fault not the class. Get good dont get angry

Just a side note : for all those people in the thread talking about clipping Goring blade and filling the 10th GCD with Shield Swipe or Fracture... Don't do that. It's a DPS loss. It's certainly a DPS and TP loss to pad out the 10th GCD with Fracture, but it was a DPS loss to do it with the current Swipe too.

The average potency per GCD of Goring/Royal/Royal is 220 (200 for Goring Blade combo, 230 for Royal), plus the Goring Blade dot. It doesnt matter if you clip the DoT, Goring Blade's dot does a continues 40 potency every 3 seconds as long as there's no gaps in. You don't "lose ticks" by reapplying too early, you actually lose ticks by reapplying it late and having a gap where it isnt ticking.

If you put in a Shield Swipe you're effectively swapping out an 220 potency (average) GCD for a 210 one AND making a gap appear in the goring blade dot which reduces dps further. Same with Fracture - this is 220 potency but the DoT isnt boosted by Slashing Down.

TLDR: Goring/Royal/Royal with no other GCD filler, clipping your Goring Blade DoT, always does more DPS than inserting a Shield Swipe or Fracture. Stop it.

Exactly - you take the current optimal 9gcd rotation that doesnt include the "old" shield swipe and add in the new one off GCD. People were implying that somehow they needed to fill out a 10th GCD to stop goring blade from clipping, and with shield swipe now OFF gcd, you'll have to use fracture.

But no, just stick to the 9GCD Goring/Royal/Royal combo, ignore fracture, and weave in the new Shield Swipe similar to how you use Spirits/Circle.
