3. A lot of more "casual" players were complaining that they wanted to experience the story of coil, but couldn't, because they were no "hardcore" raiders1. There was a small subset of raiders (who are already a small subset of the population) who complained that Final Coil wasn't challenging enough.
2. SE seem to have taken it personally that Final Coil was cleared so quickly by the best of the best, and wanted to make sure that didn't happen again, even it meant alienating a much larger group.
- Never forget about the third one, for me, this was the major reason behind alex normal and savage mode.
