Ast is the flavor of the month now with their new buffs, this by no means make them the best choice lmao! However I can agree that if you don't like to dps much then your choices pretty much lie between ast and whm both are good heals (ast not as bad a before) whm still the most powerful raw healer, do not choose your healer based on some shiny new buffs go with what feels right and level the others to see how your main heal job works best with them. I main Sch and I don't know what some here are talking about but it is by far in my opinion the most fun you will have as a healer in this game, but again that's just my opinion.

Choose what fits your playstyle and master that job!

Well my play style is that of Priest from WoW where I could swap between Pure Healing + regen in Holy spec or Shields + decent healing with Discipline spec. I loved having 2 healing styles in one class and being able to swap between them. I also like the idea of buffing and restoring resources of teammates, similar to how Bard and Machinist do. Overall I would say my healing style is that of one who prefers protecting people, mending wounds, and enabling via buffs all in one neat package.

most mobile....I'd say AST!!! For he's got many instant skills and Lightspeed! Lightspeed is the way to go ^^ you can run all over the place while you're healing

DPS......definitely Scholar, for he's got his Fairies which heal on their own, so you can put your DoTs and attacks meanwhile

I never played WOW, but if Priest could swap, then AST seems just up your alley!

Yeah, basically in WoW classes were set up in that you could specialize in two of their 3 skill trees (most usually had a dps, healer and either a tank or another form of the previous two), but you could only swap between the two specializations outside of combat and with Priest when you swapped between Holy or Discipline spec (Holy = Diurnal, Discipline = Noct) some of their spells would either be made better or have an added function of some sort. For example Holy could continually refresh it's main regen spell simply by casting a specific heal on the target which made it so you never needed to reapply the regen on a tank and in Discipline you not only had a way stronger shield, it would also restore mana when the shield absorbed all the damage it could, making it essentially free to keep up on the main tank.

    Which healer?

My suggestion to you is to try all 3 of them and choose the one that is the most fun.

Astrologians have lots of little fun things and their card system. It certainly feels like a more entertaining job due to how many tricks they have up their sleeve. Personally, I find them lackluster and a tad gimmicky. I won't deny they have all the tools needed to excel but its not for me. Check it out, it might be just what you are looking for. An Astrologian has small issues with MP (if you don't get an Ewer card the whole fight) and some small DPS issues because of it. Your fate is in the cards, you know?

Next we have White Mages, these guys are all about powerful healing and reliable HoT moves. It is not as exciting as the other healers but they most certainly have all the oomph needed to make for a good time. Oh, and did I mention Holy? Even with the nerf, it is still one of the best AoE attacks/stun lock abilities there are. The addition of Aero 3 this expansion helped its AoE capabilities even more. Thanks to their new move, Assize, they have little MP issues. You enjoy a more calm and reliable healer? Then this might be the job for you.

Finally we have Scholar. This guy is in a strange spot with me. It can do a LOT of things: DPS, Burst Heal, pinch heal, has a potent HoT move, can cast an AoE Esuna(!), and give support to other party members in the form of a haste (forgot the abilities name). The fairy alone is quite the boon. People that have an adequate amount of dexterity (both mentally and in their fingers) can really shine in this job. I have this one at 60 and it most certainly keeps your mind active with all the things you can do in a fight. Still, even with all these things, I find it hard to enjoy myself, it just isn't for me. Check out this job for yourself, if you are a scholar material you will know straight away.

Since you're already an AST then why not go all the way with it for now? The good thing and biggest appeal (for me) about AST is that they have a WHM and SCH stance so you can choose to be whichever you want more or less.

Then there's the card buffs which is nice if you get the cards you need
