A lot and forget it once you're in the dungeon for X amount of time you can leave and you won't get a penalty.

I just had a healer decked out in heavensward crafted gear in Longstop hard who wiped us while we were speed running the first wave to the boss and then blamed it on the DPS now if it were 2 drg 2 mnks or a combination of such maybe maybe that excuse would hold.
But the tank was a PLD and the DPS was me SMN and a BLM. And this was a WHM healer who tried to shift it.
So he said just kick me we said no. And I said you will either leave take the penalty or stay and do your role. Or I will report you for harassment he said he'd do the same was fine with me since I did nothing wrong he started a kick on the BLM unfortunately we realized to late it was the BLM thinking it was the WHM. The WHM did it so they could skip the penalty fortunately he couldn't leave because we were in combat ha ha ha. Then a brd joined and since he already used his vote kick he just forced a dc so wed be forced to kick him.
Well I held on to my end and reported the guy for this abuse.
Thank you for the quick and timely reply GM Eresgha.
I see a lot of people just log off and hope to be kicked, if its a dps, I usually ask if we want to force him to take the penalty or not. Sometimes we agree to trudge slowly with just 1 dps but I remember not even 5 mins later the dps came back, got pissed then left the group. Was quickly refilled and it went well from there.
you can kick them, or let them sit there while you continue the duty with 3 people.
if you want to play a mind game with them and hope they'll leave then... good luck. the motivation to quit vs. the passion to continue... you'll never win.
There's one way out. Keep moving on without them, especially if its a DPs that's being the stubborn one. By the time you get to the boss, chances are 30 minutes would have passed anyway, then you can give them the kick anyway so they don't get the rewards.

Or how about just kicking them and get someone who actually wants to be there why punish everyone else in the party.
Had this happen the other day and dungeon took way longer to finish then it had to because the other 2 people in the group who were in a premade refused to kick an AFKer who was probably off doing something else anyways.

I had this happen and they just stand around until you kick.
SE needs to add if they haven't fought anything at all up to the 2nd boss their armor breaks 100% then we'll have a reason to kick them.
They stand around AFK waiting for a vote kick because then they circumvent the penalty timer and are able to cherry pick a different group. The best way to prevent this type of behaviour, imo, is to implement a penalty timer on the players who get vote kicked.
Asking/expecting the rest of the party to use their limited vote kick option is selfish.
Not wasting my 4 hour CD votekick on someone who wants to leave without penalties.
I wouldn't dream of requesting to be kicked if I had used roulette to get into a dungeon, if fact I can only name 1 time when I have left a dungeon and that was in the first week of 2.0.
If I enter a roulette, I always give it my all, after all, I chose a roulette knowing full well that I might get a dungeon that I may not enjoy as much as others.
IMO, if anyone enters a dungeon and then changes their mind, or they need to leave for other reasons, then just leave, take the penalty and go.
I do not agree however, that a vote kick should get a penalty, my reasoning is that since Heavensward started, my DC rate has increased ten fold, before HW I probably only DC'd once every 2-3 days, after HW I now get DC'd approx 3-4 times a day, so I would not appreciate it if during a DC, I get vote kicked and also receive a penalty for something that is beyond my control.
I think a more appropriate penalty would be that if a player is inactive while inside the dungeon for a certain amount of time, then they would receive a penalty, so anyone that doesn't want to leave because of a penalty would also be discouraged from just sitting around and not participating.
