"Please Kick Me..." - Just Take Your Penalty

I'm noticing a trend where more and more players are asking to be removed from groups via Vote Kick so that they don't get hit by the penalty timer.

The Vote Kick feature is not there to help players dodge that timer so stop asking your team to use it to remove you from DF Dungeons/PVP groups. If you got into a party and you no longer want to be there then suck it up and take the penalty for leaving.

Telling your team "Please kick me please I don't want a penalty" is ignorant and inconsiderate to the rest of the group. Either give the party your all or get out on your own accord.

And in the process further dig their own grave so you have even more to use against them when you call a GM? Sure.

Kicking someone when they ask you to is just like a parent giving in to their child when they throw a tantrum. It only teaches them that throwing a big enough fit gets their way and it starts to become a regular thing.

You and the other party members can collectively report them. This is considered holding the party hostage (at least is what a GM called it when I made a similar report, except this was in T4)

I do put in reports when players pull this nonsense in DF Dungeons but it's a bit different when it happens in PVP parties. The party is more likely to just vote them out (this usually happens if the GC they are affiliated with is losing).

Regardless of filing a report or not, these players are still being disruptive and not truly being penalized. Maybe a 30 minute penalty timer should be placed on players who get Vote Kicked; this might prevent the requested abuse of it.

As much as I hate how this could possibly be abused...I do believe that vote dismissing somebody SHOULD give them the penalty. It would stop a lot of this nonsense relatively quickly, and though while it'd open more problems, at least we wouldnt have to worry about people trying to get out of the penalty just because they don't like the place they're at.

Not sure what you mean by 'holding the party hostage' if a person is sitting/afking etc. Just votekick him. People who refuse to votekick me are holding me a party hostage in this case too. Should I report them for refusing to votekick me?

Unlike leaving a party, vote kick has a cooldown. The people who don't want to vote kick are not the ones trying to circumvent a penalty in this example. If everyone did this because of no penalty, and the fact it's not YOUR cooldown that's being used, you're shit out of luck if everyone has their kick on cooldown. Which might as well be the case if everyone has the option to be vote kicked to avoid a penalty for whatever reason.

They're the one who purposely instigated delaying the party first for their own reason, whether it be to avoid a penalty or just to troll the party, both of which is player harassment.
