If someone's ASKING you to kick them because they don't want to be in the party with you, it begs the question what on earth are you doing wrong?

Uh, you're making a pretty huge assumption here. Most people don't ask to be kicked because of other people in the party. They ask to be kicked simply because they don't want to do the content that roulette lands them in. Aurum Vale, Dzemael Darkhold, Steps of Faith, Chrysalis; there's any number of duties people don't like to do and rather than suck it up and eat a 30 minute penalty, some people will ask you to waste your vote kick.
Sorry, if you really want out then eat your 30 minutes and be done with it. Otherwise, be ready to give 100% and not just sit there sulking in the corner like a damn 5 year old because the big dragon in SoF is too scary for you.
Them getting a penalty is the system working as intended. Roulette is a random pick of a list of duties, some of which people don't enjoy getting. It's intended to help newer players get through a lot of the duties required for the story and side story. It's not meant to be cherry picked, hence the 30 minute lockout. This is a way to play the system. They're using up someone's four-hour lockout on vote kick instead of eating a 30 minute penalty.

You've made a massive assumption yourself assuming any of those instances had anything to do with OP feeling the need to post this very thread, but alas OP didn't give much context on what people wanted removed from and why, which kinda questions credibility. Being on the same data centre, I've never come across this in DF as the norm is to just leave or 'DC'.Uh, you're making a pretty huge assumption here. I'm not sure how my OP left out context or can lead to questioning my credibility. It's a topic that I felt the need to discuss so I made the post about it.You've made a massive assumption yourself assuming any of those instances had anything to do with OP feeling the need to post this very thread, but alas OP didn't give much context on what people wanted removed from and why, which kinda questions credibility. I clearly stated that I've noticed a trend that seems to be appearing more in both DF Dungeons and in PVP of players asking to be removed from the party via the Vote Kick feature.
These requests, as mentioned by others typically stem from an unwillingness to do the duty they ended up in and can range in reasons from:
- they don't like the duty they got placed in
- their GC is losing in pvp
- cat's on fire, etc.
It's a blatant abuse of the Vote Kick function to try to circumvent the penalty and essential cherry pick a better dungeon or winning pvp match; the penalty timer is there for a reason.
My thoughts, while they might not be ideal, on how to prevent said cherry picking players is to assign a penalty time to the Vote Kick function as well. If you get vote kicked you potentially get the same timer that dropping the group gives. Maybe if something like this was put into place we'd stop seeing players request to be let out of dungeons or d/c to force a kick so they get into ones they like better.

I said you didn't give much content as to say any of the those certain instances a person listed a few posts back had anything to do with you creating the topic I guess I could of worded it better looking back lol nevetheless my number 1 rule on the Internet is never believe everything you read! So don't believe what I'm saying!

So those that get D/C'd by uncontrollable circumstances for an instant (lag spike, storm, ISP issues, a-hole sibling, etc) also get punished? I'm sorry but that is unfair to those people. Hell, some people get vote kicked for no reason at all, or they get vote kicked by accident because the Initiator chose the wrong person to vote kick. Or a tank almost gets vote kicked because he is waiting for the healer who said to give them a minute in the chat box and one of the DPS wasn't paying attention and decided to try vote kick the tank for "holding up the party." Sometimes people step away and don't have time to tell the party why because what they are dealing with IRL is more important than the instance and when they come back they try to apologize and in the middle of typing they are kicked.
Friend of mine has been getting insanely horrible groups lately where dps is pulling sub 200dps healers dont heal and tanks spamming one skill etc.. so its not always the dungeon that makes you want to leave, and its not always justified to get penalty when you can clearly see that you group cannot even clear a trash letalone bosses(and when you mention them that they need to stepup lil bit many will pull the "i pay my sub so i can do whatever" card). So in scenarios like these i can totally see why one would ask to be kicked instead leaving and getting penalty.

It does not matter why you want one, you are actively breaking the game rules by asking a kick.
