Sadly there are also a lot of PS3 users who didn't upgrade since the new generation had like NO interesting games at launch.Yes, they do hold back the game. But at the same time SquareEnix had set a precedent with FFXI, which was also a multi-platform MMORPG. Also, console gaming is a very dominant force in the Japanese market, so it makes sense for SquareEnix to develop a game with both platforms in mind. It might be a different story for future MMOs as the Japanese market continues to warm up to PC gaming.
Although, I do agree that legacy consoles should be dropped.
