I remember everyone complaining that the game couldn't be upgraded cause it was held back by the PS2. Heck the "PS3 Limitations" is just an extension of the "PS2 Limitations" joke. Also you are comparing an MMO released near the launch of the PS2 vs an MMO released a couple of months before it's end. Heck, play FFXI on the PS2 right now, god damn does it chug (if it doesn't crash). Was playing it to see how the game fared a few months back.
