It IS an original run PS3, the 60g in fact. It's YLOD'd on me once already, years ago, but these things are a rare breed today so I sent it in to Sony and they refurbished it. Not for free, of course, but so worth every penny. And if it YLOD's on me again I'll send it in again. And again. The newer PS3s would be such a downgrade it's not even worth considering. Yes, the backwards compatibility is worth that much, especially considering they ended PS2 production years ago now.
