They are asking "why" to try and understand what reasoning, from a game design perspective, there are class/job restrictions on items, and for what reasoning should this stay, and for what reasoning NPCs don't also follow this logic. We ALL understand that it's not currently possible to do this in-game, we are pondering why these restrictions are implemented and why they are inconsistent. We're pointing out, that the "common sense" reasoning, is inconsistent and completely arbitrary, and asserting that it is "common sense" without any supporting evidence isn't an argument at all, it's being contrarian for the sake of itself. A simple, "I don't want it to work that way." would suffice, without implying that anyone who wants it otherwise is somehow lesser than you in your reasoning capability.

Much less you're being rude and dismissive of others desires as "wishes and dreams" and seem arrogantly convinced that it "will never happen."

If you're actually going to leave, please do. You're bringing nothing to the conversation except for a passive aggressive behavior that, at this point, I can only assume is intent on getting a rise out of people.

There is NOTHING to bring to this conversation other then denial. Nor was i being "rude" i simply stated why it can't be done, and i kept getting responses like yours (but less jumping to conclusions) Your assumption is also wrong, It's the same reason why female characters do not have male animations, it's an indentitiy issue. and square wants to keep that.

Your making it sound like there is an issue with it. When you have argued with nothing. So there is no issue. Your just being a brat. =)

There is no lore issue with it.
There is no story issue with it.
There is no game issue with it, its just locked.
There is no technical issue with it. Since we can obviously "Try on" and then fill in the gaps with regular armor.

Are you so knowledgeable of the engine that you know that there isn't a variable they can toggle to allow an item to be glamour despite being unable to equip it?
Because if there was such a variable, then it would be as easy as just adding in an all-class item of the same model into the game, and it would require less content to be added.

Because if there was such a variable, then it would be as easy as just adding in an all-class item of the same model into the game, and it would require less content to be added.

Actually its more complicated to keep the current restrictions. See the holy rainbow shirt of verb.

As was stated previously, a lot of these restrictions are simply nonsensical and inconsistent.

I would like more vanity gear, but that doesn't address the existing problem.

Because you can wear swimsuits etc on any job. thus you can glamour it, the only "argument" here is simply people crying that they cant wear job restricted armor. but want to. Which will never happen. which is why i said it takes common sense, to know that something like this will never happen. and this topic wouldn't still be going with "waaa why cant i wear everything!"

Common sense would tell me that there is no way for any of us to know what will be implemented in the future.

And I would disagree with you that this is absolutely something that will never happen. FFXI, that other MMO made by SE, allows for glamouring across the board. These are obviously different games, different development teams, etc, but if it can be made a reality in one game, I definitely would not write this off as something that will never happen in XIV.

Am I the only one that dyed the alchemist coat red and ran around looking like the full metal alchemist? Lol it would be cool to glamour that on my blm. I understand many peoples opinions that class gear should remain class specific. What I'd like is more all class options. Like a lot more.

You doubt that copy/paste gear models and give them the "all classes" tag or changing the classes restrictions of already existing gears is easier than changing the glamour feature?

Also, the first one still give the devs control about what can use as a glamour on all classes, like no AF.
