i still want to see a mage without physical training wear a full plate armor and try to move with it. *laughs* that the whole reason of why armor are jobs locked and level locked.
in everyday life you can wear everything you want, yep, do that means you will be able to move like you want that another problem.
about the tank in loincloth, why not... i means it don't add clothes but take out them haha, but i'm against the idea to take out restriction of class or level simply because you want to look like a badass warrior as mage or the inverse... a bit of coherence is more than welcome.
oh by the way, what you wear everyday is more civvies clothing, not really jobs equipement, in the game they exist and are generally level 1 and no class restriction.
Lore-wise npcs *do* cross class training; this was really seen in 1.0, but there are some mentions of npcs training in another class.
I forgot the name, but a CRP guildleve talks about ARC/ LNC needed more CNJ staves so they can learn a bit on conjury to help in battle.
And the various Ishgardian CNJ-Knights (Legacy players can still the chainmail set wear btw)
There is this: 2 MRDs and a ARC wearing an recolored mage-robe found in Cutter's Cry
But yeah, some of the restrictions should be there, but they should atleast be loosen it up abit and open more options for all

Point me to the lore that says a White Mages spell power is based on their clothing. =) I would love to see your lore sources.
Medieval Full Plate, the kind they actually used for war is actually LIGHTER then a heavy robe. It would give you more movement and move faster then a man wearing a heavy robe. You obviously don't know armor, a US soldier wears almost twice as much armor in Kevlar then a medieval knight used to wear.i still want to see a mage without physical training wear a full plate armor and try to move with it. *laughs* that the whole reason of why armor are jobs locked and level locked.

Sorry, but a mage can wear plate armor fine. It is not THAT restrictive. THAT is a Myth.
It was just uncommon and very expensive. Only the wealthy were knights. However that expense does not relate much to Final Fantasy. Metals and Craft are much cheaper.

If you have dated gear, it can be glamoured on anything. So if you still have stuff hanging around on your calamity salvager, that's one solution.
But here's an idea. Bring an event that allows us to earn some dated gear. Let's excavate some pre-calamity graves and allow us to get some basic gear from back in the day. The same items that already exist in the game today. If it is popular enough, then perhaps bring the event back again and add in some "new" dated gear to keep the looks fresh but the lore appropriate.

Then you didn't think very hard.
AF gear sure, it doesn't make sense to let another job glamour it. But the Kirumu Coat or Wolfram Cuirass, for example, have zero special reason why they couldn't be glamoured to other jobs.
Please tell me why I can have two palette-swapped versions of the exact same shirt (Divine Light and Divine Hero) and yet only be allowed to glamour one of them. Does my character magically lose the ability to button up the red shirt when she is a different job? It's exactly the same as the white one-- literally the only difference between those two pieces of gear is the color. There is zero logical reason not to allow BRDs and NINs to glamour both shirts.
Pot, Kettle, etc, if you seriously think what i said meant any of that, its due to the fact everyone will be able to wear anything, and there will be no exclusive. we have plenty of things already to mix and match, do you desperatly REALLY want to wear every jobs set? It takes a bit of common sense to understand why wearing different jobs gear when you can't wear it normally, makes no sense. You dumb? Do you honestly think everyone would choose to wear the same thing or to look all alike if we could all glamour mix'n'match anything we wanted? There would be more variety and many, many more different looks available. This could only enrich the experience, not diminish it.
In other words, It's not happening, Get over it.
