At times my ping could jump to 500+ where it's literally impossible for me to perform even close to optimally, and other times it stays at a somewhat decent 150-220 and that's with programs to help ping, otherwise FFXIV is mess, even with 150 ping Fuma Shuriken manages to clip into my GCD. With easy mode Alexander I can just jump in whenever my internet's fine, and if it starts acting up mid-raid and we wipe, I can leave and take the 30 minute hit. What static would be willing to take that hazard? Sure I could play very early mornings where no one else is using the internet (4 other very internet heavy users) and probably manage to find a static to play at that time, but that comes at a detriment to things I actually have to do irl. With Normal mode in WoW I can easily jump into a pug when my internet's fine and play, while still having some form of a challenge, even if my internet was acting it up it would get to 200 at the highest because they have Australian servers, and at best it's 30.

I'm grateful and all for having the chance to do Alex before it's outdated content that no one cares about, but it's awfully boring after a few weeks. Why not add a new difficulty? They've shown they're more than capable of it with Extreme primals.
The same thing you're asking for is the same thing that happened in WoD, and it was boring. In a few weeks when you start to outgear your middle of the road version, you're going to be on these boards complaining that there isn't challenging content that's not savage mode in the game. Which is what happened in WoD.

You can always pug savage, I see people do it all the time on my server. In a couple weeks when more and more people have more gear, it'll be easier and easier and you can pug savage to your hearts content.

When they announced Alex normal a lot of people thought one was going to be slightly easier than coil and the other slightly harder. As much as I hoped they were right I pretty much knew Alex normal was going to be ffxiv's version of LFR.

I def think they should make it easy enough to where anyone that puts in a little practice can beat it and see the story, but It really doesn't need to be so easy that most ppl can down it on duty finder first try. The 24 man already serves as the easy raid, alexander normal should have been a medium difficulty raid. And savage coulda been the hard one.
What you find easy, some others find hard. The difficulty of story mode is easy enough to allow people who play at a lower level than you do to see it. Because that was the biggest complaint with Coil was that people wanted to see the story, so SE delivered it. Making story mode the "medium difficulty" shuts out some people and you're going to see their complaints again.

So people are not interested in doing savage because story mode lets them see the story, yet complain that there is no end game content. You see where this is a little wrong?
