You're missing the point. You don't get all that BiS gear at once, do you? Do you also control what drops in Alex Savage? No. Personally, I've already mapped out my BiS gear, and the order I'll be getting it. Unfortunately, with ACC so heavily weighted on just a few select pieces, it's hard to choose a meaningful upgrade path.

You might argue "Well then just get the pieces with ACC first" Ok...So that'd work, in theory, but then here I am sitting at like 700 ACC, which is in the realm of 50~ or some odd wasted secondary stats.
