I think it depends on what SE decide to go with. If they stick to making mish-mash of what's popular, then FFXIV is only going to have the usual human thing with dingledangs glued on (Viera or hybrid races). However, if they decide to try and make something that isn't a mish-mash of what's popular, then there's a chance we may get something that actually adds variety to the game, especially if it's not 90% cute.

(SE could alter the i100-110 BLM PvP feet for races like this)

By the way, how exactly are the Au Ra putting their helmets or hoods on? It doesn't seem like they can easily put them on.

Like, it definitely could be improved, but it's not completely awful currently, heck even some minor changes would improve the system a whole lot imho. For example, I was thinking the height issues with races, make the bottom 1-50 the shorter height range (Lining up with the current heights of the girls of each race), while the 51-100 would function with the taller height range (Lining up with the current heights of the guys of each race).

Honestly? I think the whole "One clan for western audience one clan for eastern audience" works much better (Outside of say, just making it so there's way more overall body shape customization in the CC), as long as they can be associated via some unique traits, say like "One Roegadyn clan is big and wide, the other one is thinner than the other one and more taller). And that way we don't get the issue of the Au Ra in which "Not a fan of small cutesy women? Not a fan of large dudes? Too bad! No new race for you to enjoy." Would it take more time? Yeah, but it'd be worth it in the long run. It'd show SE's abilities to design something really interesting and show an honest attempt to appeal to more audiences.

I have a heavy feeling we won't ever get a true "beast man" race, but heck if they just made it so the current demi-beast men could look more beast like I'd be plenty satisfied (Like, fur patches on the body for Miqo'te for the men and women and maybe a more Mithra esque nose. Or more full body scales for the Au Ra instead of the scales that look like "pretty dragon cosplay" material).

Oh yeah, with the way they currently stereotype each race for a certain thing, the ability to just choose your emotes from a wide range of them would be so great. Like one of the more annoying things with the Au Ra is I really wanted a more even mix of "Hey look weird Xaela folks doing weird Xaela warring tribe things" and "Cutesy Japanese" but like so many of the girl's emotes seem to lean on the "Cutesy Japanese" thing, so having a 5'3 lady with hardly any scales and hardly being able to do emotes didn't seem too interesting. Maybe like an independent setting in the options menu that'd let you change which emote set you'd use on a fly would work.

So as the game grows, more and more of the audience goes to the type of race with more options, while minority races that are "Bigger/tougher looking" get smaller and smaller percentage wise due to there only being one or maybe two options for that type. That, and the whole "Sorry, that's just how it works. Maybe next race!" thing really gets me worried that the player base will recycle that phrase next race and the race after that until it disappoints them, and god only knows how annoying that'll be whenever they aren't pandered to.

Magicks? Maybe they have special horn flaps that slide up with their helmets and are very skilled at sliding cloth around them?
