The title says it all, create a race (or more then one, if you like)!
They can be an FF classic or something completely new to the franchise.
Make the description as vague or as detailed as you'd like but please include at least basic info like physical appearance.

Viera. Not because of some of the moon talk. Nor because I've only ever seen them as a mostly female rabbit version of the Mithra/Miqo'te. But because their overall console design looks like it would fit in with how Miqo'te and Au Ra looks. Also the wiki page also seems to have a concept sketch of a possible male variant. I don't know if its legit but it's definitely a Viera.

Otherwise a Land, Sea and Air triathlon track for chocobo's would be a race Id like to see.

I'd lean towards the Viera as well, but I think two races with animal features is enough for now. But if I had to guess, I'd say the Viera are the most likely choice for the next race we get.

I also doubt square enix will go too outlandish with appearances, I doubt we'll see any monstrous races of any kind, but I'd want something like that. The Burmecians from FF9, the Garif from FF12, the Bangaa from FF12... you get the idea.

Was gonna say inb4 viera when I first saw this thread, decided not to do it though >_> Darn it.

Anyways, I want something reptilian, with lots of scales, sharp teeth, et cetera, it can be incredibly humanoid, I just don't it to look like the scales and tail are glued on. Maybe make it so the heights and body mass are equal for that race too, I'd kill for a race with women that were as big and tough looking as the men.

Hmm...

I'd honestly like to see a couple of "ugly" races put in to give the game more diversity. Something reptillian or dark-ish, like demons or whatever (gotta get my goth emo look going on~). I'm not really sure what would be a good suggestion and I'm sure most players would tell me to Hush! :P I just like to play extremes sometimes. Characters that aren't "pretty" seem infinitely more interesting than all those young-looking perfect faces.

Buchis:

In another continent, a tribe of beasts resembling bulls that walk upright as men, not quite the same as minotaurs, are set upon by foreign invaders. They pray to the Heavens, offering a great sum of crystals to their Primal, Buchis: an enormous mummified bull avatar with three eyes, each one a different colored gem which controls the weather. The ruby eye produces great storms of fire; the sapphire eye brings deathly cold; the emerald eye calls chaotic torrents of wind and stone.

I'm bad at making race names so I'll just call them what they are.

Avian race (harpies)
Half man half bird people, that come from windy mountanous foresty areas. They "nest" in caves, huge trees and mountaintops. These people are a fierce race that only group up for hunting huge animals. Some of them are not satisfied with this solitary life and so they become adventurers. They could have the ability to fly without a flying mount! The legs and hands are a bit odd so they could have gloves and boots hidden so no remodeling needs done. The hair would be made of feathers and it would be hidden with certain helmets like it is with current races. There should be a feather option on the character creator to adjust the amount of body feathers, and also different tail options. This picture should give you the idea, although those arm and tail feathers need toned down a bit.

Males would be quite slender and a bit shorter than females. Kind of like this but with similar wings as the female one has.


Fish race (this one is known as Jinyu in WoW)
They come from, you guessed it, the ocean. A very intelligent race that know magic well. The genders look the same apart from a few colour differences. These people form huge societies that work in perfect harmony, almost like ants. Some don't like the role they are given and so they become adventurers. There might be some issues with gear modeling again and I suggest the same solution as with the harpies. I would like the ability to choose scale colours and fin shape.
