    They don't design any gear farm to be that quick and easy, not by most normal person's standards. Everything is designed with a limit and a lockout because this game is not designed to be played 24/7 with the "fast as you can, sleep when you're dead" mentality. That is a death sentence for most MMOs.
    I don't have a problem with the grind; this is an MMO and I did play XI for a decade. I don't mind grinds. My problem is the cost. It makes no sense to require double the tomes to upgrade that chest piece that has now been outdated THREE TIMES. That's my point, and my issue with it, not MMO grind.

    Also, to the poster that said it wasn't logical but that's the way it is....so? Just because something was done, doesn't mean it's right, nor does it mean we, as paying customers shouldn't speak up. You go to a restaurant and order something, they get it wrong. You just accept it or do you say something? No, you say something. Same thing.

    Hi, new player here who hasn't even gotten past Ifrit Normal yet, and never played an MMO before.

    So, I'm not really sure how this whole tome thing works, but why can't they do something like "hard limit 450, break limit to 900 if you beat level 60 dungeons, break limit to 1200 if you beat level 60 dungeons and Ravana and Bismarck extreme, break limit to 1600 if you beat all dungeons at ilvl min, break limit to unlimited if you beat all tiers of Alexander Savage" in that order?

    As you've stated, you're new. Most of the playerbase do not comprehend mechanics, or anything that requires critical thinking. On Behemoth, people in top gear still fail on Bismark EX. My group cleared it in a mix of 160/170 with all having 180 weapons.

    So it wouldn't change for a good chunk of the playerbase.

    That's why I was saying the better a player you are, the more you can earn. It would encourage players to try and beat these things more often because the reward would be faster gearing. That's why I want to know why they can't do something like that.

    Again, it wouldn't change for the majority. Therefore, players get mad, come here, whine and complain, throw a fit, until either everyone gets it, or its removed. I think it would be great. I'll never touch Alex Savage, but I'd be totally find for having 1600 lol.

    Proportions between each type is the same as for law gear, but with a higher base.
    That's quite overpriced to be honest, taking into consideration that 1, the cap is 450 and 2, we have no really good source for eso tomes. Still if ESO gear stays as the best outside of savage alexander runs, till at leas 3.3 I guess it is good.

    Given the fact we have to grind "3 WEEKS!" just for a Weapon... oh boy.

    The same goes for a Gear Piece, it'll take 2 Weeks. This is going to take longer then 3 Months just to fully equip a Job.... and yes, this is a Timekiller again.

    Well, most of the players aren't from other MMORPGs. We know how to max damage because we were trained into well oiled killing machines via addons giving us clear numerical data as well as a plethora of written guides. By applying our previous knowledge to FFXIV, beating things like Bismarck EX is entirely feasible. Even after telling them what to do, they still need to fine tune their damage output somehow, which in this game is trial-and-error/sink-or-swim.
