And this should be changed. Yoshida isn't even giving it a chance.
There are many other things that should be changed first, and this is one of the last things.
The amount of tomestones is set like that so the team can appropriately release new patches on time. If you had the chance to earn double tomestones a week, you'd complain twice as fast that THERE IS NO CONTENT BOOO SQUARE ENIX FIX IT WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING.
Find something else to do if you are done farming tomestones.
potato

Adding 50 tomes to the weekly cap wouldn't take away from things that need to be changed. The weekly cap is set to 450 because Yoshida thinks it will keep players subbed longer. If we could earn twice as much per week, I would be ecstatic. I would never complain that I have nothing to do. I do have other things to do after I farm Tomes, but that doesn't change the fact, that things should change. There are many other things that should be changed first, and this is one of the last things.

Also making the weekly cap 500 a week only takes a week off of grinding. All it does is allows players to buy a 495 piece in a week and not two.
This isn't a change, that is what we've always had since 2.0. Every other patch they make it faster.
I was there and it was crap and it still is.

I dont understand why people are complaining. My alex normal gear wont become obsolete for months. Im saving for the eso weapon first. Thats three weeks iirc. So at least a month before I even start replacing my alex normal gear. The i170/180 gear is perfect for alts and I get it for free by working on my main.
Is it just the cap? What did people expect? 3.1 content is a ways off. Pacing the grind is a good thing for many reasons.
Probably because hard weekly caps are social death traps. The environment has gone to hell in less than 24 hours past patch release.I dont understand why people are complaining. People hit the Cap = Done Farming = Less People Queue'ing for Dungeons = More Queue Time = Other People suffer
The same also goes for the Weekly Lockout for Items.
People get their Weekly Item = Less People Queue'ing = More Queue Time = You know...
It was common that Monday Syrcus Tower Raids were dead, while the next Day when the Reset hitted, you could Insta Queue or had to wait 5 Minutes for it.
If you look at my previous post, I described what was happening from my perspective. I've been running dungeons on and off for the last three weeks, yet in less than 24 hours every party I'm in has some player who now expects perfect performance or they'll start harassing players. May I remind everyone that DF gives you a random group, and there are many new or inexperienced players out there who use the same tool. I've had to defend a newbie healer from a hostile tank who wanted to chain pull everything when the healer was under geared for it, calm down an argument between party members who got irate over a minor mistake that cost us nothing in Neverreap, and other issues. It's tiring to have to play referee on every dungeon run.
I wouldn't normally complain about anti-social players, but the sudden change in how frequent I'm encountering them post patch is like night and day difference.

Oh. You're talking about the concept in general.
Well, if you have a better idea in how to approach it, I'd be happy to hear it. I'm really not a huge fan of the style we have now anyway.
The problem is, if they make content to quick to clear, people will complain that there's nothing to do before they add the next major patch. They always have to balance what the player can achieve with how much content they can regularly put out.

And it will be changed. Soon as better endgame gear comes out, they'll make a harder way to obtain that and nerf the previous ways.
Same with every other job for every major patch sense the game got renewed. It's how linear progression MMOs work.
