That's quite overpriced to be honest, taking into consideration that 1, the cap is 450 and 2, we have no really good source for eso tomes. Still if ESO gear stays as the best outside of savage alexander runs, till at leas 3.3 I guess it is good.
Same as all other current-at-the-time Tomestone gear.
I started this game a few months ago, and never had to deal with a cap. By the time I hit 50, I could do stuff for soldiery, which didn't have a cap. It was a fair upgrade to the gear I had.
Upon seeing this new grindwall they've added, I just shut it off. I never had to deal with that before, so maybe that's why it was such a turn off. Minimum of three weeks to get the tomes for the weapon? (445 x 2 = 890, and the weapon is over 900). Gearing up in this stuff appears to take literally months. There's a similar wall on crafting. That just sounds extremely not-fun. I don't want to login daily to slowly log progress towards a weapon that'll I'll get after dutifully grinding for three weeks.
Maybe the game was always like this, but it was never the game I played.
It's always been like this with Tomestone gear. It's fine, if annoying to continue grinding Philo.....Myth....Damn, I mean sol...No? Poetics?...............Oh! Law! Yeah, that's....now Eso? /sigh Ok then.I started this game a few months ago, and never had to deal with a cap. By the time I hit 50, I could do stuff for soldiery, which didn't have a cap. For weapons, you could just wait till the 3.0 relic quest starts.
So I hear, but I was too low to actually experience any of the prior time-capped stuff. It's just fundamentally unappealing to play time-locked like that. I liked the game up until the time/grind-wall I guess? Maybe I'll come back someday, but I think I'll be letting my sub lapse rather than deal with this either on my DoW character or my Builder of the realm (since advancement in crafting is also weekly-capped now).
Hi, new player here who hasn't even gotten past Ifrit Normal yet, and never played an MMO before.
So, I'm not really sure how this whole tome thing works, but why can't they do something like "hard limit 450, break limit to 900 if you beat level 60 dungeons, break limit to 1200 if you beat level 60 dungeons and Ravana and Bismarck extreme, break limit to 1600 if you beat all dungeons at ilvl min, break limit to unlimited if you beat all tiers of Alexander Savage" in that order?

We can do it another way... Get unlimited tomestones but be restricted in what is available to buy each week instead... With items being added over time.I don't know where to begin with this, it's almost like they didn't learn. Nobody wants a 450 cap limit that takes month to gear toward, subsequently not everyone wants to do the hardest content available to upgrade said gear. With the fact that 190 gear JUST came out 2 weeks ago no one is even fully geared with that yet, the game is too flooded and too restricted in my eyes to be enjoyable. I don't know how anybody else feels, but to me this is a subscription breaker.
Week 1: nothing
Week 2: Body
Week 3: nothing
Week 4: Legs
etc.
I'm not saying it's logical, but that's the way it's just is at this point. This new patch has a cap on Esoterics, a cap on the new raid. Let's say (just hypothetical), Person A already capped out for the week on Saturday, and has nothing left to do. Well Person A could endlessly farm Law, and because he is able to do so, they put a high amounts on upgrades etc.
When everyone say you have to grind for stuff in this new patch, they weren't kidding. Everything that doesn't make sense in this patch is full supported by the grind.
RetiredBRD Main in HW. BRD Main again in SB

As you've stated, you're new. Most of the playerbase do not comprehend mechanics, or anything that requires critical thinking. On Behemoth, people in top gear still fail on Bismark EX. My group cleared it in a mix of 160/170 with all having 180 weapons.Hi, new player here who hasn't even gotten past Ifrit Normal yet, and never played an MMO before.

So it wouldn't change for a good chunk of the playerbase.
That's why I was saying the better a player you are, the more you can earn. It would encourage players to try and beat these things more often because the reward would be faster gearing. That's why I want to know why they can't do something like that.
