Ishgard Housing Transfer System Unfair

It sort of gives an incentive to current home owners to uproot and move.
This frees up spots in the current three housing zones for people who would prefer living there than in the Ishgard area.

Some home owners would just abandon and move but others may not unless they got a cheap way to do it.
If you've wanted your beach house in the Mist, allowing Mist owners to move is the best way to get one for yourself.

I'm more worried if those same players would try something to keep their old house plot while buying their new plot.

Some players already own multiple house in their account due to buying a house for each of their multiple characters.

If Housing was Account bound rather than Character bound it may help open up more housing space for players that want their own Personal House.

The issue arises with the fact that it wasn't this way from the beginning. The players that did buy multiple houses on a server with alts would then pose a problem for SE to have to handle if the system was changed to be in such a way.

It does rather seem that the $$ paid in subscription by those who were fortunate enough to get a personal house already are worth so very much more than the $$ ofeveryone else, so much so that this tiny minority of players deserves special treatment. Or to put it another way, favoritism sucks and you are totally pissing evetyone else off, SE. Fix the damned housing shortage first, before doing anything else for current owners of in-game homes.

This would help a little. But people will find a way.

I was looking for a house tonight, got a tell from a guy who is selling two plots and just sold one recently. I guess him and his buddies bought up a bunch of plots and are selling them for 2-3x's what they paid. Almost bought one until he said, I was going to have to spend an extra 5mil, on top of what I was going to pay him.

Pretty much the same as FCs getting more than one house, by leveling an ALT FC.

I'm not really sure what people are mad at, here. You want a house? Well, creating a new area will open up a lot of new plots! You're dead-set on a plot in an existing area? Well, allowing people to easily transfer to the new area will open up plots in the old areas! Either way, you're getting the chance at a plot, because whether I choose to stay in the Goblet or move to Ishgard, there will still be more plots available than there are existing home owners.

And as a home-owner, my sub is worth at least as much as yours, so saying that your concerns need to be addressed before mine is petty and incorrect.

Well, we don't know if it will be unfair YET because we don't know exactly how it will work.

On the other hand, the housing system is currently an unfair mess so it does seem likely.

Considering the number of players per server housing in insanely limited. I really do think they need to introduce losing your house if you don't log in for x months, even if it's as long as a year. If you care that much about it, you can log in at least once to save it.

I hope they are thinking more carefully about Ishgard housing...

Um, unless they do something massively drastic, it obviously WON'T fix the housing shortage, especially on decently populated servers. The number of players who want a house compared to the number of houses they will add.... you really think those numbers will be even?

As a homeowner, part of your sub goes toward funding the development of housing features such as furniture and airships.

Funnily enough, non-homeowners pay the exact same sub while subsidizing a feature they are unable to use.

If someone couldn't afford a house before when they were available, but can now, well so can everyone. That is just because of the flood of gil into the market now because of the expansion. Gil comes from the quests, vendoring items to NPCs, enemy drops, etc.

So yea, if you think you suddenly got rich from doing almost nothing...so did everyone. You are gonna have to fight everyone and their Fat Cat for a house in Ishgard... I really think those houses should be incredibly expensive. We need more gil sinks. There is kind of too much gil in circulation atm.

Getting the money to buy a small house has never been a significant accomplishment. Price is not the issue driving the anger surrounding the housing system.
