    Ishgard Housing Transfer System Unfair

Q63. I really love the scenery in the new areas. Do you have plans to introduce a housing ward in Ishgard?

A63. We’re currently working to solve the inconvenience in the extended wards, so we believe it’ll be after this. This is because we think we first need to create a transfer system for players who wish to move to an Ishgard area.
I don't see why if they own a house already why they should get the ability to transfer to new housing if its added. If anything they should be put on a time limit before they can own any ishgard housing until the people who want houses get a chance at them

    Discuss.

even if there wasn't a transfer system most people who really want to move would just abandon the house and move anyways

It is a clear favor to those who already own a house, only allowing current home owners first dibs in Ishgard. Not surprising since housing is one of the most unfair things SE has rolled out thus far.

The only game I've seen where someone can own a home forever without even needing to log in during a certain timeframe to maintain ownership.

This is a system that definitely needs to happen, releasing houses that haven't had the owner login after a certain amount of time has passed. Send them all their furnishings in the mail if they ever come back.

They were going to do that then the forums got in an uproar over it and they backed off of it

That's unfortunate, it's definitely something that should be implemented.

What hinder a player wihout a house, but with enough gil to buy a house, to buy a plot before someone transfer to the plot? On some servers it will be still a "who is there within the first 10 minutes" thing even without the transfer.
Also with every transfer a plot somewhere else get free.

They said nothing about "first dibs". They said transfer system. At no point did they say that those who already own a house would be able to transfer to Ishgard before they go up for sale. That's an unfounded, and quite silly, assumption.

No, current home owners will have just as much chance at new housing in Ishgard as everyone else, but they will be able to transfer their "deed" instead of buying a new one outright.

So, we want to make a bad idea even worse by implementing a way to lose something that may have taken someone over a year playing the game for maybe an hour and a half a day to save up and purchase? There are a ton of people out there with limited off hours who like to play MMORPGs, not just people with 3+ off hours devoted to entirely to playing a single game. Not to mention, not everyone is crafting or gathering to make a ton of gil like some players do.

It was bad enough having to lose 300k gil to a housing room that vanishes when the FC does or the person gets booted from it due to being inactive for a long time. Now we want to take this to housing worth 4 million gil or more?

Maintaining a house for someone who doesn't play or intend to play the game anymore is a BAD IDEA and not the other way around. There is no reason for keeping that house off the market for those who stopped playing. The amount of time someone stops subbing may be a debatable issue but I would suggest that 3 or 4 months is probably a good benchmark to start with.
