Alrighty. So I ended up leaving that FC anyways due to other reasons, but during that time I got myself a DPS parser. I am pretty depressed with what I came across. When I pop my cooldowns and go burst with a strong opener I can get about 625 dps. After that initial burst I drop drastically to just barely being able to hit 500 dps usually lingering in the 480 zone. My ilvl is 167. Been trying to wrack my head around it as I am using one of the opener and rotations from the first post of this thread as suggested to me by someone. For some reason I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I am keeping things steady and popping procs as they appear..

I am ilvl162 with ilvl142 weapon and I open with 1100 and go down to about 700 after 3 minutes or so. Watch haxetc's videos.. he thoroughly understands the job whether he still mistakes or not but he does play it well.

I'm ilvl 180 with the 180 law weapons. I usually burst around 1200-1300 (hit 1400 once) and then drop down to about 850. It just takes practice and making sure you're using your cooldowns when they're ready (only saving Blood for Blood to match up with Hawk's a Eye, Rapid Fire and Wildfire). GB's cast time into instant attacks when split shot procs also takes some getting used to, because it doesn't have a steady rhythm like most jobs. Just keep at it and you'll get it.

I can sustain 460 dps at lv57 in bossfights in the Vault. You're doing something really weird. Is that including your turret?

^This... Did you include your turret in your calculations? It's parsed separately unless you set it to merge pets in the plug in settings.

How did someone calculate those weights for the MCH without a working damage model for the job and accurately calculated the interaction between your player and his turret? Pet scaling is different in 3.0 (evident with Fairy healing Nerf). Did someone already make a simulator or something similar to mine in Excel?

I see no reason why Skillspeed is valued that low from yours (or whoever's) calculation. I don't see any extreme DoT clipping issues with the Machinist (correct me if I'm wrong) and Skillspeed should aid with many other things such as reduced cast time with no real cost.

Even if MCHs have a lack of DoTs, you're still benefiting from the natural exponential growth from Skillspeed, so it doesn't really make that much sense in my head.... hahaha

I've done nothing to calculate but I could assume why it's so low. We have the proc system that allows us to instant cast skills, one dot and not sure if turret is affected by SS. It might not be as low as it is but it will still probably be bottom of the totem pole.

Hello there mchs, just wanna check with you guys how much are you getting from wildfire without pots food and drg pt buffs whatsoever. I do recall being able to hit around 5kish to 6kish but it seems that after the patch which reduces a few potency stuffs I have only been able to get around 4900ish. Tested a couple of times and it seems really hard to push any higher even on the opener. Am I doing something wrong or have we somehow been nerfed for that.

Yesterday in 180 gear and no food or pots, I hit for 7200+ on second boss of Fractal. That's my highest so far.

Has anyone noticed an inconsistency in parses among a group? Had two people yesterday give me two completely different numbers in Bismarck Ex.

Often times people forget to reset their parser manually if the following pull happens quickly after the previous wipe.

I have my encounter culling set to 45 seconds so sometimes it doesn't get a chance to reset itself. That results in a very long encounter time and oddly low numbers, and is the first assumption I make when there is a discrepancy between two parsers.
