Shots Fired: A Machinist Guide

Alrighty. So I ended up leaving that FC anyways due to other reasons, but during that time I got myself a DPS parser. I am pretty depressed with what I came across. When I pop my cooldowns and go burst with a strong opener I can get about 625 dps. After that initial burst I drop drastically to just barely being able to hit 500 dps usually lingering in the 480 zone. My ilvl is 167. Been trying to wrack my head around it as I am using one of the opener and rotations from the first post of this thread as suggested to me by someone. For some reason I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. I am keeping things steady and popping procs as they appear..

I am ilvl162 with ilvl142 weapon and I open with 1100 and go down to about 700 after 3 minutes or so. Watch haxetc's videos.. he thoroughly understands the job whether he still mistakes or not but he does play it well.

I'm ilvl 180 with the 180 law weapons. I usually burst around 1200-1300 (hit 1400 once) and then drop down to about 850. It just takes practice and making sure you're using your cooldowns when they're ready (only saving Blood for Blood to match up with Hawk's a Eye, Rapid Fire and Wildfire). GB's cast time into instant attacks when split shot procs also takes some getting used to, because it doesn't have a steady rhythm like most jobs. Just keep at it and you'll get it.

I can sustain 460 dps at lv57 in bossfights in the Vault. You're doing something really weird. Is that including your turret?
