HAHAHAHAHA!!! ROFL!I've had too many friends lose their job or fail their test because they were too exhausted from HNM hunting in the middle of the night (because if they didn't show up, their shell would kick them, and all that miserable HNM hunting they did up to that point would be for nothing).
So wait... let's say they add a bajillion HNMs and they're all heavily monopolized by RMT and botshells.
Now, let's say they remove every HNM from the game.
Does it make any difference at all to you at the end of the day? Either way they're mobs you won't be fighting, so it's not likely to ruin anyone's gameplay experience. If the botters have superior claiming programs, most people will give up on HNM as they did in FFXI.
To me, the point of HNMs (in FFXI) WAS the exhilaration of spamming during the spawn window, and if you got the claim, hurriedly positioning everyone and setting up shop for the fight. Since there was a huge waiting list for items and most shells used a favoritism lotting system versus a point based one, I knew when I first started endgame that I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in heck of getting any worthwhile gear. That doesn't mean I personally didn't enjoy camping them - until botters destroyed all hope of fair competition.
So yeah, I don't like the idea of people dismissing content that I enjoyed because of the possibility of it being monopolized.
Even if SE did manage to thwart botting, it would probably be the more well-organized shells repeatedly getting the claim. So as long as there really is fair competition for claiming (and a claiming system that doesn't utterly fail like the imminent changes underway), I would love to see HNM that people compete for in FFXIV. I loved the competition in FFXI.
Your opinions are noted. And forgettable.
If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
Yes. The items will then be obtainable another way; hopefully a better way... i.e. instance. Now, let's say they remove every HNM from the game.
Does it make any difference at all to you at the end of the day?
Maybe you did not read the last few topic if you make everything instance then the area around the game become life less and only 1 city would have life once again be back to square one with everyone in ul'dah at least now i see people in other city due to marks and what not,.
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner
Also didnt read the fact that HNMs dont have to drop stuff that rmt want...like U/U gear...they dont want anything they cant sell. They did that to HNMs in FFXI years ago, not sure why they wouldnt do that again.Maybe you did not read the last few topic if you make everything instance then the area around the game become life less and only 1 city would have life once again be back to square one with everyone in ul'dah at least now i see people in other city due to marks and what not,.
please come up with better excuses as to why they need to never impliment it into this game because you dont like it and would rather let noone have it if you cant do it...greedy clowns.
they should make everything in game /ex, wouldn't this kinda get ride of rmt totally. at worst they would have to sell full accounts only, but remove name changes and server transfers for accounts and then even that becomes unappealing cause everyone will know that it was a botter or rmt account days ago lol.
this just LoL! i'm still chuckling 10 mins after reading it!There's nothing wrong with that. But there are ways to make things rare and hard to get without requiring 3 a.m. wake-up calls in order (for a tiny, slim chance) to get it. I've had too many friends lose their job or fail their test because they were too exhausted from HNM hunting in the middle of the night (because if they didn't show up, their shell would kick them, and all that miserable HNM hunting they did up to that point would be for nothing). It's just senseless. Rare and difficult challenges in an online game shouldn't require you to sacrifice your RL schedule to accomplish it. There's no need for it, especially since it encourages destructive behavior.
Almost everyone who is for a HNM system has suggested better way of doing a HNM system, having everything as an instance would destroy the game IMO, you need variety even more so in endgame content.
EDIT: Still chuckling ^^

wow!!!
for me competition are defeat really dificult boss with limit time and what "ls" are the first in your server
FFXI players will destroy this game

think this just confirms any point you make is narrow minded and invalid.
I guess as a FFXI player i should say that WoW/EQ/GW/Eve players will distroy this game. but that makes no sense to say something as narrow minded as that. ideas from all those games and FFXI can be used to improve FFXIV, it's a good thing that lots of ppl have come from other MMO's to play FFXIV and they are feedding back their like and diskliles about it. hopfully in the end we'll end with a game with lots of the good things of other MMO's and very few of the bad.

I think the best way for HNMs is making them pop item, sky style was great, or ZNM was good too
